When I first saw you,
I was nervous, hiding from surely judgmental gazes.
I met your eyes, bright blue,
And it was same tale of the ages.
Maybe I was foolish to fall so fast
But you've never wronged me yet.
You live in a world of hands crashing
Escaping it as your ball falls through the net.
My best friend's never met you
But even she said you're too good for me.
I know she's right, but can it be us two?
We'd be the biggest power couple there be.
You don't even know I exist at all,
But believe me when I say it's true
That while you're showing off with your ball
I'm on the sidelines whispering, I love you.
