"Do you reckon Kate and Matt will be sus about us both having Monday off?" Jack asked, settling his tall figure into the driver's seat of Kylie's Suzuki Swift early on Saturday morning.
"Kate probably will be - she's such a gossip. You know she tried to hook me up with one of Will's mates the other week?" Kylie replied happily, buckling her seatbelt. They were on their way to Campbelltown for Jack's niece, Isabelle's christening tomorrow morning.
On Thursday morning, Kylie had put in for Monday off, claiming she had a doctor's appointment to review her gallbladder surgery from earlier in the year. It wasn't strictly a lie, Kylie did have an appointment at half past eight, which is where they were headed before heading up the highway for Sydney.
Jack had told Kate on Friday morning that he had to go to Sydney for a family event over the weekend and would need the Monday off. Kate had spent the next twenty minutes berating Jack because Kylie had also said she couldn't work on Monday, leaving her to find two casuals. Jack had walked away with a huge grin on his face, because Kate still hadn't figured out that the person Kylie was seeing in secret was him.
After her doctor's appointment, Kylie was given the all clear so they could set off for the highway and fast leaving Wangarra behind him. It wasn't long before Kylie's phone bleeped with a message from Jack's sister-in-law, Paula.

Kylie tried not to laugh but between Paula's demands for a vicarious thrill and Jack shooting glances at her, it was impossible.
"What's going on with you?" Jack asked her playfully, all the while looking confused.
Kylie shook her head saying, "just Paula texting me,"
"Oh god ..." Jack laughed.
