Saturday 26th Oct, 8:32 AM
Kylie heard a knock at the door while she had a late breakfast in the kitchen. She was wearing a mid–length navy blue satin dressing gown over just her underwear, she hadn't brushed her hair either and looked a real mess – the result of an excellent night's sleep.
"Jack! Can you get the door?"
Knock, knock.
"Jack?"
Knock, knock.
Kylie huffed softly, abandoning her breakfast on the counter, hastily tying her hair into a messy pony tail to answer the door and wondering where the hell Jack was. He was up, she knew that much because he wasn't in bed when she woke up.
"Hello –" Kylie said opening the door and clutching her closed dressing gown to make sure she definitely didn't reveal anything.
"– Jack?" Kylie blinked, sure she was imagining things. Jack was dressed, looking dapper as usual in his white trousers and a dark blue shirt, rolled up to the elbows and wearing RM Williams dark brown leather shoes.
"Morning!" He cheered, grinning inanely. He held up a bouquet of flowers for her.
"Jack, what's all this about?"
"Oh no, did I get the day wrong?" Jack cried, mockingly slapping his forehead. Kylie rolled her lips to stop from laughing.
"Jack, what – I don't understand? What are you doing?"
"Our first date! Don't tell me you forgot?"
"What? Jack, we've been dating for seven months –"
"– work with me, mate –" Jack whispered, still grinning boyishly at her.
"– I – I –" Kylie frowned, grinning and completely taken by surprise. Yesterday, Jack had made a rather sudden quip that they had never actually gone out on a date, adding that it was something he was determined to fix.
"You said I could pick you up this morning, remember?" he continued with his act, that grin becoming wider with every word. Kylie slowly bit her bottom lip, trying to hide her smile. He was being indescribably cute.
"But I'm not even dressed!"
"Hey, whatever floats your boat, mate –" Jack replied quickly. "– I mean, you won't get any complaints from me if you wanna go on our first date in your birthday suit,"
Kylie gaped, feigning shock. "Hmm ... why did I say yes to a date with you again?" She teased him, leaning against the edge of the door, sizing him up.
Jack smirked, his bright hazel eyes twinkling. "You just couldn't resist my charms, that's all."
"Pretty sure I'd need more than a pretty face,"
"Ooh, Miss Kylie that went straight to my heart!" Jack clamped his free hand over his heart dramatically, making Kylie laugh and adding, "ah, so you think I'm cute?"
Kylie laughed again, cheeks flushed rosy, bottom lip tucked girlishly under her teeth. He dropped his pretence to point and smirk at her.
"Ah, there you go, you're laughing. See, I've got it all,"
"Oh I'm sure there's more to that particular package deal than good looks and a sense of humour."
"You wound me, Miss Foley!"
"If that wounded you, maybe this date isn't the best idea?"
"Are you suggesting that you're too hot for me to handle?"
