Maria's Origin

Maria stood still as she looked at Shadow with tears in her eyes. Sha... SHADOW!!!!! Maria started running while crying. About to hug him.

Shadow looked over and saw her running at him. "Who are you?"

There was a huge amount of silence.

Awkward everyone thought at once.

"You don't know me?" Maria asked with tears. "No. And why are you crying? It's making me feel uncomfortable." Shadow told her.

"I'm Maria." Maria said making Shadow go a little pale. "Maria? Like the human Maria?" Shadow asked and she nodded her head.

"That's impossible. I saw her die in front of me many years ago. Give me one reason why i should believe you." Shadow said boldly.

"Remember that time when we were kids? And you drew a picture of me and you on Earth. It felt nice. And you started calling me sis. It was so cute." Maria said with a smile and soft voice.

Shadow looked at her realizing it really was her and started crying as he hugged her.

"Wow. And you've grown so tall. It feels like just yesterday you were only tall enough to my waist." Maria said giggling.

"I...  Don't like to talk about that in front of my Fri- companions." Shadow said with emo. "But it was so cute. You were like a little toddler." Maria said while Shadow blushed.

What is this new information? Shadow was a child at one point?! Everyone thought while shocked at the brand new information.

"But how are you alive? How long have you been alive? I have so many questions." Shadow said quickly.

"Well I think I've been alive for a few months now."

I dont understand it myself. But I remember going to sleep on the Ark. Then there was this flash of light. Next thing I know I hear this voice.

"Do you truly wish to help the world?"

I nodded my head. I didn't know what was going but I did and it was true.

"Great. It's time for you to be reborn."

Next thing I know. I'm in a metal room in a place I didn't know. It wasn't the ark. I had no idea what was going on so I walked out of the room and started yelling. "Shadow!? Grandfather!? Anyone here!?" I shouted. 

"Intruder alert. Intruder alert. All badniks to the west halls immediately!" A loud man's voice shouted. I got scared and started running. I of course have never been in a situation like this. So all I could do was panic. 

I got more scared and stood dead still when I saw bug robots pointing guns and missiles at me. Then a old looking scientist looking more or less like Grandfather walked up to me. "Who are you?" He asked clearly angry. But I didn't know why. 

"I'm Maria Robotnik. I don't know how I got here. One moment I'm asleep and the next I'm here. And I'm just confused and scared and I don't know whats-" I started talking then got interrupted by him yelling which got me more scared. 

"You DARE make fun of the Robotniks!? You're not even a human!" He said then I looked at myself and realized he was right. How did I turn into a hedgehog? Was all I could think of. But I chose to ignore it for now since I had other things to worry about. 

"I got turned into a hedgehog! Somehow. But I really am Maria Robotnik!" I told him. He just nodded his head at me. "Impossible. Maria Robotnik died 50 years ago on the ark." He said as I got shocked.
