Knuckles put Emmy in a secured room then went to the hospital wing and he was very weirded out at the sight he saw. "Why does Gadget look like that?" Knuckles asked.
Gadget was coughing blood with nosebleeds.
"Wow. Why does it look like Maria maybe killed him once." Knuckles asked. "Because she "slapped" him. Sadly he's ok." Shadow said disappointed.
What did she do? Knuckles asked in his head
Flashback time
"You are a HEARTLESS-"
"UGH"
"MEAN-"
"OW"
"JERK and no one will EVER think you as a BOYFRIEND!!!"
Gadget status: Dead
"I- I see a light."
Gadget had blood spilling out of his mouth as a result from the words he just heard.
"That'll teach you!" Maria said walking off.
"Maria. Tell me why you mentioned the boyfriend?" Shadow asked with slight happiness that Gadget was in pain. But slight anger that she even mentioned it.
"Oh um... it's true...?" Maria said the lamest excuse.
Gadget status: Heart attack physically and emotionally
Flashback end
"Anyway Gadget did you hear the news?" Knuckles asked. "What?" Gadget asked. Tails and Sonic brought Rookie in and set him on the bed next to him. Gadget stared at him with tears of joy.
"He- he's ok?" He asked crying. "Yup. A little tired and Vanilla said he has a little mental injury but he should be fine in a while." Knuckles told him. "I really thought he was dead. I'm so happy." Gadget started crying even more then started coughing out more blood.
"ON SECOND THOUGH!!! Maybe you should just stay here. And try to rest. Try not to die from blood loss." Knuckles told him.
"Hehe. Sorry." Gadget said with tears in his eyes and blood coming out of his mouth.
Seriously what happened? Knuckles asked in his head
"Ok let's go." Knuckles told Shadow Sonic and Tails. "What did you hear?" Tails asked Knuckles. "Let's just say it's not good. That's what this meeting is for." Knuckles answered.
Spirit Realm
"So what's up for today? Going to the future again?" Roger asked trying to ignore his dream from last night.
"Actually we're already here." Tikal said. "This is the resistence base. Here is where the main fire power of the resistence live. Our target today is around here somewhere."
Regular Realm
"So. I'm sure you're wondering why I called you here." Knuckles said with a serious slightly angry voice. "What's up?" Maria asked.
"As you heard by now. We recently found Rookie after he went missing the last few months." Knuckles said the good news. "Really!? Gadget must've been excited." Maria said. Apparently she was the only person who didn't hear about it.
"Yup. He was. Sadly as that's good news. We have bad news too." He said. Then everyone sat silent prepared for the bad news.
"There's... There's a traitor among us."
"WHAT WHY HOW!!!!!!????" Everyone shouted in shock.
"Rookie told me that before he past out. He didn't tell me who nor how he knew." He said. Mumbling started happening until Shadow slammed the table.
