When Madison arrived at her hospital, Dell Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas, she walked right to the ER nurses station and got briefed by her boss, the Managing Nurse, Elizabeth. Maddy was the Nursing Administrator, one step below Manger in this hospital— Liz loved her boss, and the nurses she managed, and the hospital. They're why she took the job- the people.
"Thanks Liz, got it!" Maddy sat down at the nurses station, and began to help triage patients into appropriate places. There was a random outbreak of Mercury poisoning, and no one knew where it came from— Maddy and here team were just trying to keep people alive.

"Dude.. you almost made Maddy pass out with that kiss!""Only cause she didn't see it coming.. he's not that good."
"TK man, you're just being like that cause she's your best friend!"
"Ya damn right!"
"Did you tell her yet?"
"Nah man. I'm gonna though.. just gotta wait for the right time. Ya know?"
"Paul, she's the most open-minded person, like she beats my folks! I came out to her, and her alone, when we were in like fifth grade! She's a real one. Just.. if you were worried. Don't be."
"Thanks man. I like her already. She's great."
"I know, so be careful dude.. I know where you sleep dude."
"Man chill!"

"Maddy! Need an assist in here, please!""Coming!"
"Shit! I thought this was just another poisoning?!"
"It is!"
"Well fuck! That's a new symptom.."
Halfway through her unscheduled shift, Maddy was exhausted— she was confined to the nurses station now, checking in and moving patients to open rooms on other floors if needed. She was so bogged down that she didn't even see Paul walk in with a bag of food from her favorite fast food place — it was a fish sandwich from McDonald's. She mentioned it during their ride to their date, it's crazy he remembered.
When she was done stressing out for a moment, she looked up and saw him. "Paul! Oh my god! When did you get here?!"
"Just a few minutes ago... I was just watching you bossing it up over here," he chuckled.
"Oh yeah, for sure!" Maddy laughed. "Oh! Is this what I think it is??" She grabbed the bag with hungry eyes.
"Yep, fish sandwich.."
"Oh my god! Yes! Thank you!! I need the grease!" Mandy laughed. "You're the best. Thank you!"
"You're welcome. No trouble! I'm sure you're hungry— since you weren't even supposed to work today.."
"Starving! It's a mad house in here! Everyone is like the fucking walking dead— from Mercury poisoning?? So weird! Anyway, thank you!" She kissed him; payback for earlier. He smiled at her and tuned to walk away.
Maddy finally finished her shift, that she wasn't even scheduled to work, 6 hours after she arrived at the hospital. The next shift came in, and that was Maddy's signal that she could leave. Before she could relax at home, she needed to go to the store, and she wanted to stop by Owen's house too.

*knock knock*
"Owen! TK! It's Maddy!"The door opened and TK was on the other side, "hi Mads! Come on in!" He reached out to hug her.
"Hi boo! What're you guys doing? Am I interrupting?"
"Not at all! Dads just about to make dinner, wanna stay?"
"What're y'all having? I'm so exhausted from today dude. Who fucking knew Mercury poisoning could manifest like that? Seeing people looking like the walking dead.. sucks."
"Yeah.. Paul said it looked insane." Tyler said as he rubbed her back. "We're having fish."
"So yes.. I'll be staying!" Maddy laughed as she slumped on their couch and rubbed her temples. "Thanks Teek. Love you!"
"Of course Maddy. Soo.. Paul. Good kisser?"
"Tyler Kennedy Strand!! You know better than to ask me that.." Maddy couldn't help her smirk that crept across her face. "But yes.. the kissing was good."
"Yeah.. 'good'. You're a terrible liar," Tyler laughed as he walked into the kitchen.
"Oh shut it!" Maddy laughed back. "Hi Owen!" Maddy got up and followed Tyler to the kitchen where she hugged Owen and dipper her finger in this sauce he was making. "Looks good!"

"Morning Beth! Happy Monday!""Madison, hello! Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Any fun dates?" Beth winked.
"Not this weekend.. but we are getting dinner this week."
"Ohh.. good! Did you tell him you're.. uhm, bisexual? Is that okay to say? Sorry.. I'm old school."
Maddy laughed, "oh my goodness. You're hilarious. Yes bisexual is okay. So is Bi. But no, I didn't tell him I'm bi yet. I'm planning on doing so this week actually!"
"Good. What do we have today?"
"Stomach ache, migraine, broken foot.."
