"Babe!" Tim called from the living room of his apartment.
"Mmm?" Maddy mumbled just as her alarm went off. "I'm up!" She shuffled to the living room, holding Tim's cat.
"Look.." he said pointing at the tv. "Volcanic activity coming from Pilot Knob! Wild!"
"What?! Isn't that the dormant volcano a little south of here?!"
He was transfixed on the TV, but answered anyway. "Yep.. one and the same."
"Well dammit.." Maddy let out a nervous chuckle. "I feel like that's not a good thing."
"Well, I guess we're gonna find out babe.." Tim chuckled. "Hopefully it's not too bad today. Call wise.."
"What if no one even knows about it?! It could be bad! Be careful out there today babe!"
Maddy always worried about Tim when he was on shift; never knew what could happen. She knew he was always going to come home to her, but the thought that something could happen always lingered in the far recesses of her mind. ——————————————————————— "Have a good shift babe! I'll see ya tonight!" Maddy called to Tim as she dropped him off at the 126.
"You too baby! Be safe! I love you."

"Hey TK! What's up man?"
"Sooo.. it's a new year! Doing it?!"
"Yeah bro.. this year for sure. Probably next month actually- it'll be officially a year since our first date then. One of her moms Christmas gifts to me was this.."
Tim dug in his medical bag, unzipped the inner pocket, and pulled out a princess cut diamond, set on a gold ring. "It was what her dad gave her mom, and now I get to give it to her!" Tim smiled the dorkiest smile as he carefully placed the ring back in the pocket of his bag.
"So she'll say yes?" Tim rubbed the back of his head.
"Tim.. are you serious dude?! She texts me everyday saying how much she loves you! You're so good for her!" TK slapped Tim's back.
Tim smirked in return, "she's good for me too." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Okay ladies and fellas! We got an interesting case coming in as one of my last— volcanic rock injury, ohh.. AND scorpion sting.." Maddy said with a puzzled look. "Yeah.. you heard me.. this Pilot Knob shit is fucking everything up. So.. What do we need?"
