"So your left wrist, is actually fractured in two places, hence the air cast... the swelling hasn't quite gone down enough for a regular one. Your ankle has a small hairline fracture as well. You also ruptured tendons in your left ring and pinky fingers. So, I know you're gonna hate this... but no work, for three to four weeks. But luckily for you, the ER needs your presence... so, after two weeks desk duty only. Until I clear you."
"Four weeks?! Doc you gotta be kidding me?! I can't do that! I have bills and shit, and I love my job.. even two or three weeks is gonna suck."
"Well Maddy... if you want yourself to heal properly, three. weeks. minimum. AND LIGHT. DESK. DUTY." Doctor Jensen said sternly.
"We'll help you Mads." TK said. Maddy was visibly annoyed, "y'all have jobs and shit too!"
"It'll be fine.. I'm in town for another full week, at least." Eddie added.
"And we'll come over after and before shifts... you work here, they probably already know you're gonna be off..."
"Ugh.. yeah. But still! I need to see if I can get paid, gotta talk to Sharon." Maddy said. "Thanks guys... it's just a wrist, but I'll always welcome y'all at my place." She sighed. "Fine, fine. Three or four weeks. Anything else?"
"Uhm.. yes." The Doctor continued. "Your head injuries Madison.. you know how dangerous several major head injuries can be..... if you have any more, it could cause serious damage. So just be careful."
"Well in my defense, two are those were due to an attack." Maddy threw her hands up. "But I know doc.. I've been thinking about that too actually. I'll try to be as careful as possible. Is that all..? Please say yes.."
Doctor Jensen chuckled, "actually yes it is. Just be careful of your wrist, it'll be hard cast before you leave, for two weeks, and then soft cast again for the remaining two; your ankle will need a walking boot.. which I will get you fitted for, AND I'm going to brace your fingers too."
"Fine, fine.. okay doc. Thanks." Maddy smiled gently.
Doctor Jensen rubbed her arm, and stood up. "Okay, I'll see you tomorrow, for your fitting of the boot and finger brace."
"I can't wait.." Maddy laughed with sarcasm. "Kidding! I'll see ya. Thanks Michelle.. I mean, Doctor Jensen!"
"Anytime Madison. I'll see ya."
"Well that's fantastic..." Maddy said, dripping with sarcasm. "I'm just thankful I'm right handed... wrist cast AND finger splint? Damn."
"It'll be fine Mads.." TK said before getting up and walking over to her bedside. "We're here for you... all of us," he said as he glanced toward Eddie. Maddy smiled when she noticed.
"Thanks boys," she said. "I'm sure Owen will be babying me too.... can't say I hate it though. It's kinda nice," Maddy shrugged with a laugh.
"We gotchu girl!" Carlos added as he walked to the foot of her bed. "And we heard what she said about your head injuries.."
