Maddy awoke in a huff, cuddling her stuffed otter, and alone in her own bed. She turned on her right side. She checked her phone for the time: 3:30am. "Fuck.." it was another dream about Tim.
She noticed that she had an unread text from TK, 'hey boo. If you're feeling like it.. come to Carlos's tomorrow. :)' sent at 11:30pm the night before. She smiled to herself before flipping over to her left side and trying to fall back asleep.
She wasn't sure how long she was asleep until she looked at her phone again: 7:30am. She decided to get up and start her day— and text TK back, 'hey dear! Carlos still expecting me? ;)' she walked out to her kitchen and was surprised to see Tex sitting on top of the fridge. She started to laugh hysterically before she heard her phone go off again, it was TK.
'Oh but of course.. I can pick you up?' Maddy smiled as she replied to his text. ——————————————————————— "Hmm.. what to wear Tex?" Maddy asked her cat. Maddy often forgot she was alone, and that Tex was a cat, but she still asked her questions— one day Tex might answer. "Hmm.. jeans and a sweater? I think yes!" Maddy said as she grabbed black jeans and grey sweater out of her closet.
She walked over to the mirror on her dresser, and started to do her makeup— a little more than usual for TK and Carlos tonight. She always liked to get a little dressed up for her favorite couple.
She used to always get dressed up for TK, just because he always gave her the best compliments. She had a little girl crush on him before he came out to her, so to say she was a little disappointed is fair, but she was always the most supportive and protective of Tyler. ——————————————————————- *knock, knock*
Maddy walked to the door and looked out the peephole, seeing TK. She smiled as she opened the door and let him in. He gave her a small package, and she smiled as she walked over to her kitchen to get a knife to open it.
"Tyler.. what is this?" She smirked as she opened the package, revealing a necklace in the shape of an EMT badge. It was engraved with '126, TMR and his badge number 1435.' Maddy instantly started to cry. "Tyler... this is... it's beautiful..." she was taken aback by the thoughtfulness of the gift. She ran the five feet to Tyler and embraced him in the tightest hug. Her tears of happiness falling to his chest.. "thank you, so so much. I don't know what I'd do without you Tyler. I love you."
Tyler embraced her before kissing her head, "you're more than welcome... I'm the one who doesn't know what I'd do. I love you too, Mads."
She pulled away to make eye contact, and she felt Tyler loosen his grip too. His dark eyes meeting hers as he raised his hand to her cheek, wiping her tears away with a smile. "You were my first love Maddy."
She smiled, "you were mine too. Always will be." Maddy sniffed before she continued, "now.. let's go to your true loves house!" —————————————————————— "Hi guys! You both look great!" Carlos said to the pair as they walked in. Madly made TK stop at the liquor store so Maddy could bring Carlos some wine.
"Hi babe," TK said as he kissed Carlos. "Hi, babe." Carlos kissed him back. He took Maddy's coat and the bottle of wine, "thanks Mads! My favorite." He kissed her cheek.
"I hope you're hungry Maddy!" Carlos said ask he walked back into the kitchen. TK walked up and wrapped his arms around Carlos's waist, causing Maddy to smile. She loved them so much. "I'm starving actually!" ——————————————————————- "That was delicious as always Carlos, thanks!" Maddy wiped her lips on her napkin. "Do you want help with dishes?"
"Nah Mads, it's cool! Can you just bring them up here please?" Carlos's smile could melt the coldest of hearts.
"Of course!" Maddy smiled in return. She took her dishes up and rubbed Carlos and Tyler's backs.
She went to sit on the couch, and watched the couple in the kitchen. Carlos never wanted Maddy's help with the dishes because he wanted TK's help. They had their problems, but they really care about each other and seeing TK so happy made Maddy happy. ——————————————————————— "Thanks again for dinner, C! I'll see ya later!" Maddy hugged him before walking out and waiting for TK, who was whispering in Carlos's ear. Maddy could see Carlos smirk and she knew what Tyler was saying.

"You know that she literally doesn't care..." TK hissed into his ear. "I'll be back.." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Maddy smiled as she saw Carlos blush as he adjusted his jeans. TK kissed him one more time before meeting Maddy on the sidewalk. "Sorry to keep you waiting.."
"Oh.. not at all! Y'all are so cute, I won't keep you.. I can take an Uber.." Maddy winked.
"No.. it's fine, it'll be quick!"
"Okay.. if you say so." She and TK took off for this car. ——————————————————————— 'Tim.. Tim.... no'
'Maddy.... it hurts, it hurts.... please, help me...'
Maddy shot up and clutched her chest from the pain she felt. She heard the fear in Tim's voice and saw his face, bruised and burned. She started to cry as she clutched her stuffed otter.
Her dreams were getting bad again— it's because she was sleeping alone, and hadn't been used to that since before she moved to Austin. She had to talk to TK and Owen about her situation; she'd never ask to live with them, nor would she impose herself on them— she just needed them to help talk her through it.
