I had so much fun writing this

☆☆☆

You had no idea where you were. The room you were in was so dark. You were supposed to deliver something to someone but right now you barely could remember what it is. It was definitely Doppio who gave you the suitcase though. Yeah, it was definitely Doppio.

You were a part of Unita Speciale, currently working with Doppio. He was honestly the only person you got along with. But today (or perhaps it wasn't any more "today", maybe it was already "tomorrow") you had to complete this mission alone. And so, it seemed like the mission failed.

It took you a moment to register the bindings on your arms and legs and another second to feel the numbing pain to your side. There was something warm below you. Other than that, the room was deathly cold.

In all honesty, you were panicking. In shock. You could feel your heart beating rapidly against your chest. But it wasn't the type of shock where one would be brainstorming about how to get away. Oh no, it was the type of shock that left you feeling like a deer in headlights. You couldn't do anything to get your brain to work and you just stood there staring blankly into the darkness.

That was all you did before someone flicked the lights. There were a lot of people in the room. You hadn't heard them enter. You blinked a few times until your eyes got adjusted to the sudden light. One of the men, very, very tall and scary, sat in front of you at the table you failed to notice earlier. The others followed him, stopping beside him.

"Hello" you greeted out of nowhere. Even you didn't know why you did it. The man stared at you; his expression unmoving. You heard one of them chuckle. Unknown to you, it was the one and only Formaggio.

"I suppose you know who we are-" his words were cut off by your panicked ones.

"Oh, I have no idea."

You saw the purple-haired man beside him cover his mouth in an attempt to silence his chuckles. The same man from before chuckled again. With a sigh, the big goth in front of you continued.

"We are La Squadra; I'm their capo, Risotto."

You tried to run through your memory to find some clue as to who those people were. Sadly, your mind didn't want to work today. When Risotto didn't get any answer from you, he continued with his words.

"We want your information."

"Spill everything" a blue-haired man joined in on his words, giving you a glare. Your wide-eyed stare was kept on Risotto as you tried to think of something to say. And you blurted out the first thing that came to your mind:

"Well, you see, it all started when I was little-"

Ghiaccio's groan cut you off, accompanied by Melone and Formaggio's chuckles. Risotto pinched the bridge of his nose in an attempt to stay calm. "Tell us about the mission."

"The mission?" you started. "MY mission? Or yours? Because I don't know if you have a mission or not. I don't even know why you'd ask about this kind of stuff. I mean, you're the leader you should be aware of your own missions-"

Risotto put his face in his palms, while Ghiaccio just stormed out of the room. Melone was losing his shit. They needed a different approach.

"You had a suitcase with yourself when we caught you. It obviously needs a code to open it. What is it?"

"It's 5468" you blurted out, without thinking. And for a second Risotto though he finally got a straight answer from you. His joy was short-lived. "...no wait it is 6468. Or was it 8465...?"

Their capo stared at you in bewilderment. Prosciutto had left along with Ghiaccio.

"I have motor memory, sorry. Is it possible if you gave me like a grid of numbers? Maybe I could do it then? This really isn't a bluff I'm just very bad at remembering stuff."

" Then what is inside of it?"

"Jeez, now I want to know as well... "you chuckled low." Could you possibly let me call my friend? Maybe he knows cause right now my head is completely empty."

And for once, Risotto believed you. This was getting ridiculous. He handed Melone his phone and waited for you to say the number. Melone held the phone close to you, it being held in a way so the others could listen as well, and you waited patiently for them to answer.

"Hey, what is inside the case you gave me?" you started.

"Where are you? Did something happen?" Doppio's panicked voice came from the other side clear as day.

"Yea, a lot of things happened, like for example today when I woke up-"

"Are you in trouble? Right now, I mean."

"Oh perhaps. I've been feeling quite down recently."

Doppio facepalmed, asking the gods what he did to deserve this. Formaggio was crying.

"CURRENTLY. Where are you CURRENTLY?" he spelled out the word for you.

"I'm in a chair. I think I'm also sitting in a pool of blood."

There was a moment of silence from the other side before Doppio continued: "...is it...your blood?"

You took a moment to think. Looking down at yourself, there surely was a pool of blood around you. "yea I think so"

"Do you know where it's coming from?"

"Probably from the stab wound."

"You've been stabbed?"

"yeah definitely."

Risotto put his head against the table, completely giving up. Formaggio was having the time of his life, laughing on the floor alongside Illuso. Doppio was trying his best to stay calm but was really tempted to slap you right now.

"Are there people with you?"

"Yea"

The pink-haired man took some time to think. Perhaps you weren't in danger? "...are you with Cioccolata?"

You looked over the man once again, trying to pay attention to their looks. "For now, no, but who knows? Maybe he's in the next room..."

Doppio fell silent. You were a dumbass and there was no saving you.

"...whoever's got you, if you're listening, please, just hang up."

Melone did.
