17. I Want a Puppy

This is dedicated to @Veka_Porras b/c she left an insanely sweet comment! @Veka_Porras you made my year! I'm still so happy!!!

"Jace?" Clary asked with her head on his lap. They were currently hanging out at Luke and Jocelyn's house. Just chilling and watching F.R.I.E.N.D.S. reruns.

"Yes?" Jace asked.

"Can we get a puppy?" Clary asked, remembering that that was her prize for winning the bet.

"Why do you want a puppy?" Jace asked.

"Because they're cute," she said.

"You can look at pictures of puppies," he said

"And you know, to cuddle with," Clary added.

"You can cuddle with me," Jace said.

"But also to walk them and stuff," she said.

"You can put a leash on Luke and walk him," Jocelyn joked, coming into the living room with Luke.

Clary laughed at the thought. "I don't think he'd like that."

"No, I wouldn't," Luke said.

Jace shrugged. "Okay, we can get a puppy."

"Really?" Clary asked, surprised that it was that easy to convince him.

"Yeah, you did win the bet after all. And if you want a puppy we can get one. Just don't expect Church to be too happy about it," Jace said.

"Let's go now!" Clary jumped up excitedly.

"Wow, you are a really nice Jace," Luke said.

"Why? Would you not get me a puppy if I wanted one?" Jocelyn asked him.

"Of course I would honey!" he said and mouthed, 'no' at Clary and Jace when Jocelyn wasn't looking.

Clary smiled at her step-dad and left with Jace to a pet store.

After an hour of looking at puppies, Clary exclaimed, "I don't know which one to choose!"

"Okay, which ones have you narrowed it down to?" Jace asked.

"This Alaskan Husky here and this Yorkshire Terrier," she said.

Jace hesitated for a moment. "You want to get both?"

Clary whipped her head around to look at Jace in shock. "Really?"

"Sure, if you can't decide, we can just get both," Jace shrugged.

"Are you high or something?" Clary narrowed her eyes at him.

"I just want you to be happy," Jace said.

"You are just the sweetest!" Clary exclaimed, throwing her arms around his neck and peppering him with kisses.

I'm so getting some tonight, Jace thought.

"So we getting both?" he asked out loud.

"Okay!" Clary said happily.

At the end of the day, the Institute had two new members living in it, a gorgeous Alaskan Husky, and an adorable Yorkshire Terrier!

"What should we name them?" Jace asked.

All right hope you liked it! I wrote this, b/c I just saw the cutest Yorkshire Terrier ever!
