For those of you who have gone back to school: I hope this brightens you're day of being stuck in school all day!

For those of you who aren't in school: I still hope you enjoy!

Clary sighed. She was so bored!

She was due any day now and ever since Magnus told Jace that it would be better if Clary didn't move too much, Jace made it his mission to make sure she didn't move an inch from their bed.

"Do you need anything? Water, pickles, fries, more pillows?" Jace asked.

"Nope. Nothing's changed in the last five minutes," Clary answered, getting tired of his incessant questioning.

He sighed and seeing as she didn't need anything, he busied him self by cleaning up the already tidy room and fluffing her pillows.

"Jace?" Clary said.

"Yeah?" He was by her side in an instant. "Do you need-"

"Shh." Clary put a finger over his lips, cutting him off.

"Sit down," she ordered, motioning to the spot next to her on the bed.

Jace sat down immediately.

Clary scooted closer to him and snuggled into his chest.

Jace hesitantly put his arm around her small frame, not fully touching her, just hovering over her shoulder.

"Jace, I'm pregnant, I'm not going to explode," Clary muttered into his shirt.

"I know, but I just want to make sure I don't hurt you or our baby," Jace said, finally settling his arm around her shoulders.

"Sorry, babies," Jace quickly corrected himself.

"Hmm," Clary hummed, her eyes closing slowly.

Once Jace was sure she was asleep, he slid his arm out from under her head and laid the blanket on top of her.

He debated what to do and decided that he'd go out to get more pickles since they were running low and Clary was going through them at an alarming rate. Although, she was eating for three people.

He grabbed his jacket and shut the door behind him softly so she wouldn't wake up.

"You going somewhere?" Simon asked.

"Shh!" Jace shushed him. "Clary's sleeping."

"Oh sorry." Simon waited until they were farther away from Clary and Jace's room to ask, "So are you going somewhere?"

"To the store to get more pickles for Clary," Jace said.

"I'll come with you, seeing as you don't even know what a mango is," Simon said.

Jace glared at Simon and sighed, "Fine, whatever."

"Where are you guys going?" Isabelle came up to them.

"Shopping," Simon answered.

"Shopping?" Izzy's eyes lit up in excitement.

"Grocery shopping," Jace clarified.

Just like that, the excitement drained from her eyes. "Ew, gross."

Jace rolled his eyes. Typical Izzy.

"Hey, could you check on Clary every once in a while and text me if she's awake." Jace looked at his sister who was starting to walk away.

"Sure," Izzy said, not even looking back.

"Okay, let's go," Jace said.

-

"What's that?" Jace asked, picking up a pineapple.

"It's a pineapple," Simon said.

"Huh, so this is a pineapple." Jace examined it. "I could probably do some serious damage with this."

"Do you see everything as a weapon?" Simon asked as Jace put the pineapple in the cart.

"Not everything," Jace said.

"Now this could do some damage," Jace exclaimed, lifting a rather large watermelon.

"What is it?" he asked Simon.

"It's a watermelon. And these, Jace, are grapes," Simon said, pointing to a package of grapes.

"And these are strawberries," Simon said slowly, as if he were talking to a child.

"I know what grapes and strawberries look like," Jace said.

"Good for you," Simon said, patting Jace on the head.

"Stop that," Jace snapped, swatting Simon's hand away in annoyance.

Simon only chuckled and resumed pushing the cart up and down aisles.

"Anything else?" Simon asked after Jace had put some pickles in the cart.

"No," Jace said.

They went to the checkout line - the girl behind them flirting with Jace - and paid for their things.

They were walking back to the Institute when Jace froze.

"What?" Simon asked.

"Shh," Jace shushed him for the second time that day. "There's a demon here."

Simon looked around, but didn't see anything.

Just then, three demons jumped out at them.

Before Simon could do anything, Jace had already pulled out a seraph blade and killed two of the demons.

He dropped the blade since it had been covered in ichor. He pulled out his a second seraph blade, but the demon lunged at him making him drop the blade on the ground and hiss in pain as the demon cut his wrist.

The demon was approaching him again so Jace picked up the first thing his hand came in contact with to swing at the demon - it was the pineapple.

The demon staggered back, either from pain or from the shock of being hit by a fruit and that gave Jace enough time to retrieve his second seraph blade and stab the demon.

Jace looked over at Simon who had been stationary the entire time. "The pineapple's more help than you are," he panted.

"You didn't look like you needed any help," Simon said.

"Let's go find Magnus," Jace said, looking at his cut that looked to be too deep for an simple iratze to heal.

Jace picked up the bag that held the pickles, which, unlike the pineapple, had remained unscathed.

Simon tossed the ichor covered pineapple into a nearby dumpster so that no mundane would eat it and walked home with the man who had just killed something with a pineapple.
