Chapter 8

Kim's POV

I woke up in the arms of Katie, which felt quite strange. I'm pretty sure it was her that was supposed to wake up in my arms. I checked the time on my alarm clock seeing it was 11.00am. Wow I hadn't realised that we had slept this late. I turned my head to look at Katie and noticed she was still asleep.

I gently got out of her arms and went downstairs. A few minutes later I had made us both some toast and drinks for me and took them back upstairs to my room. I put them down on the bedside table and I laughed to myself when I realised that Katie hasn't moved.

I moved over to the side of the bed she was on and gently shook her arm trying to get her to wake up. "Katie...time to wake up."

She scrunched her nose up, which I immediately thought was the cutest thing I have seen, and rolled over so her head was in the pillow. "No...5 more minutes, I don't want to go to school."

I was trying so hard to keep in laugh as I sat down on her side of the bed. "Well that's good because you don't have to go to school."

"Huh? What?" She turned over and finally opened her eyes to look at me.

"Morning Katie."

"Oh. Morning Kim."

"Did you sleep well?"

"Yeah I did thanks."

"Good. I've made some toast because its 11 and Cheryl's coming at 4 and we need to go food shopping before then."

We sat in bed eating the toast chatting about anything that came to mind and about 30 minutes later, I started to get out of bed.

"Ok. I'll take these downstairs then we can get dressed, go food shopping and then unpack your boxes before Cheryl comes?"

"Yeah that sounds good but just 5 more minutes in bed and then I'll let you go." As she said this last part she grabbed my arm and pulled me into her. I made no objections and wrapped my arms around her as we carried on talking. In the end we were there for longer than 5 minutes but who really cares?

We were coming out of Tesco's at about 2. After finally dragging ourselves out of bed we had got dressed, came straight out and after trailing round of all the isles for a while we were on our way back to the car.

We we putting stuff in the boot and it seemed unusually quiet.

"Kim? What's wrong?"

"Nothing. I'm fine." I replied looking around and then I saw it. There was a man in a bush with a camera pointed right at us. From years of experience I knew that there was never just one on their own, there would be more around trying to get the best shot.

"Katie get in the car." She looked at me confused at my tone, but as soon as she saw my face she got straight into the car with no questions asked.

I finished putting the stuff in the boot, and as soon as I got in the car I started up the engine and drove off. As we we're driving out the car park I could see a bright flash come from the side of me, but I didn't stop to see where it was.

We were driving down through the streets and neither of us had said anything since we had got in the car.

"Kim. Are you ok?"

"Yeah. I'm fine. I'm just annoyed. I don't know how they do it but they seem to be everywhere I am and now because they want to know who you are they are going to be everywhere you are and I feel horrible that I am inflicting them on you because they will never leave you alone."
