Kimberley's POV

"Kim...Kim."

I felt a few hairs being pushed from my face to behind my ear and a hushed voice in my ear but I was too tired to think about it properly.

"Wake up please."

I groaned and moved my head so my face was pressed more into my pillow hoping to block out the sounds I could hear.

"Kim..."

As I realised that Katie was the one talking to me my eyes shot open and I sat up straight away looking at her.

"What? What's happened?" I felt a feeling of worry wash over me while my eyes were roaming Katie's body to see if there was anything physically wrong with her.

"Nothing like that, I just can't sleep." She giggled instantly putting me at ease and I let out a sigh of relief.

"Come on, get in."

I moved up making room for her and opened my arms for her to cuddle into.

As she was settled in my arms she laid her head on my chest and I suddenly didn't feel tired anymore.

"Why can't you sleep? What's on your mind?"

"Nothing, I'm not sure why, I just can't seem to get to sleep."

I tightened my arms around her hoping to make her feel more comfortable. "Ok, I'll stay up with you then."

"You don't need to do that."

"Try and stop me."

She tightens her arms around me and we are quiet for a few minutes while I'm running my fingers through her hair until we hear Cheryl sigh in her sleep beside us and we can't help but laugh.

We realised we must have laughed too loud when we see Cheryl stir beside me and turn over so she is facing away from us.

I know Cheryl's been tired lately and has a meeting tomorrow so not wanting to wake her I suggest something.

"Want to go to your room so we can talk properly?"

"Yeah."

Katie climbs out of bed first, waits for me to get up then takes my hand and leads us out my room and into hers.

We both get into the bed, instantly warming up underneath the cover and laying how we were before with her head resting on my chest.

We're silent for a few minutes, just content being in each others arms but I speak up breaking the silence.

"How's college going lately?"

"It's alright, pretty much the same as school really." I'm glad she actually wanted to go to college, I would hate it if I had to force her to go somewhere that she didn't want to go.

"How's Tillie, you haven't mentioned her in a while?"

"She's good, still as lively as ever, which reminds me, it's her birthday next Saturday and she's invited me to her party, can I go?"

"What kind of party?"

"House party."

"Kati-" She must have known I was gonna say something she didn't want to hear because she cut me off before I could finish my sentence.

"I know what your gonna say, but Tillie is crazily protective over me and I'm gonna be with her the whole night so she'll look after me and you can pick me up at 2 if it makes you feel better."
