Chapter 37

Kim's POV

Katie had refused to go to the hospital, she kept insisting she was fine she just wanted to go home.

I completely understood why and after we had briefly been to the police station we are now sat on the sofa at home.

Katie had to tell the police what had happened to her and she chose to do it with me and Cheryl there.

I was happy when I found out he didn't hurt her or do what he did to me.

"Do you want a cuppa babe?"

"Yes please."

As Cheryl came back in with our cups of tea she put mine in front of me and I looked down at Katie cuddled into my side and noticed she was shaking slightly.

"Katie, did he feed you at all?"

"No."

"Aww babe, you should have said, I'm gonna go make you some pasta."

I tried to get up but I felt her grip on to me tighten.

"No please don't leave me."

I felt my heart drop so I turned to her and held her hands into mine.

"I'm only going into the kitchen, Cheryl is still gonna be here ok?"

She nodded so I slowly got up and Cheryl took my place. I smiled at the sight of seeing Katie cuddled up to Cheryl's side.

I made Katie some pasta and also made some of me and Cheryl because we hadn't eaten for a while either.

Once it was made I brought it into the living room and over to Cheryl and Katie.

It was quiet when we were eating but we had the tv on so it was ok.

I kept glancing over to Katie, simply because I was happy to have her with me again, I kept noticing that she was eating slowly however I was glad because she wasn't shaking anymore.

Once we had finished our meal Cheryl took the plates into the kitchen and as she stood up, Katie looked at her with a worried look on her face so I sat back next to her to give her some comfort.

I could see her eyes nearly closing and I knew she had hardly got any sleep last night.

"Shall we go and take a nap?"

She nodded and all 3 of us went upstairs. I stayed with Katie while she got changed into her pjs then lead her to mine and Cheryl's room.

Her and Cheryl got into our bed while I got changed into my pjs. I actually felt tired too because I hadn't sleep much last night and I knew I would finally be able to sleep with Katie next to me knowing she is safe.

I got in with them and Katie cuddled up to my side with Cheryl behind her.

If I could forget what had happened over the past few days this would be perfect. Lying here with my daughter and girlfriend, could life really get better than this?

Katie hasn't talked much since she came back but I completely understand why.

I look down at her to find her staring off into the distance.

"Katie?"

She looked up at me and for the first time in a while she met my eyes.

"You do know we are here if you want to talk about it, but if you don't that's completely fine."

"Yeah I know."

"Good and I promise you, so long as we are here we won't let anything happen to you again."
