Katie's POV

It's been a week since Tillie's party and me and Sam haven't stopped texting.

We've got to know each other really well and I was surprised to find out that we actually have a lot of the same interests.

He's invited me and Tillie to go and see a football match that he's playing in but there isn't a match till the new year and we're both really busy so we haven't been able to see each other.

I still haven't told Cheryl and Kim about him yet though, I still don't know whether we are just friends or if it will go any further so I don't want to explain it to them yet.

When I've been texting him they have asked a few times who I'm texting and I just say Tillie, it's not a complete lie because me and Tillie do text quite a lot I just wasn't texting her at that moment in time.

Me, Cheryl and Kim are currently sat in a dressing room, it's the day of the X factor final so we have to be here early but so far we haven't done anything.

Mel, Simon and Louis are sat here with us too, everyone was supposed to be doing a rehearsal 10 minutes ago but there's been some problem with the lighting so we have to sit around and wait till they've sorted it.

I've just sent a message back to Sam when Simon speaks up making me jump slightly.

"How's college going Katie?"

"It's alright, looking forward to the Christmas holidays now though."

"Isn't everyone." We all laugh at Simon's comment and our attention soon turns to Mel.

"Alright guys, who do you think is gonna win tonight?"

They all start talking about who they think is going to win but a message flashing up on my phone distracts me.

I try and keep my phone screen out of view of other people as I reply to him. Just as I send the message Cheryl speaks up making me jump once again.

"Who are you texting?"

"Tillie." I'm quite proud of my response, it was quite quick.

Cheryl seems happy with my answer but Kim speaks up instead making Simon, Mel and Louis stop talking and look at us.

"You two are texting a lot recently, you always seem to be on your phone."

"Dunno, I guess we just have a lot to talk about."

"Hmm, alright then." Kim and Cheryl share a look and I know that this isn't the end of the conversation but with everyone around us they probably don't want to get into it now.

"Is it a boy?" Mel's question seems to take everyone by surprise.

"What?"

I turn to see Mel and Simon with smiles on both of their faces.

"Your texting a boy aren't you?"

"No." Neither of them seem convinced by my answer and I didn't blame them.

I could see Simon's mouth opening as if he was about to say something but luckily for me a producer came over and said that they needed the judges to go to the stage.

Mel, Simon and Louis stood up immediately and started walking away and Cheryl stood up, placed a kiss on Kim's lips then followed them down the corridor leaving me and Kim on our own.

I could feel her watching but I didn't look up, not until she moved herself so she was sat next to me.

"You don't have to lie to me you know."
