Chapter 4, Maylin

Once I let them in I led them to my apartment they demanded that I get dressed before following them without so much as an explanation but I knew if I wanted answers I would have to follow them.
"What is going on? And where are you taking me? We could have spoken in my apartment" I demanded with a frown as we got into a car.
"We will be there soon and shall explain everything there, you should take this time to learn some patience" sneered Elizabeth and I got the distinct feeling that she didn't like me, then again I didn't really like her either.

"Here we are" said Tracey after half an hour. Once the car stopped I looked out of the window to see where they had brought me and I couldn't stop my eyes from going wide in shock. There outside the window was a large mansion made of white marble that looked like it had been ripped straight out of a fairy tale. It had four stories and windows evenly placed along the front and probably the sides and backs but I couldn't see that at the moment. On the bottom floor there were two grand doors with golden handles and leading up to those two doors there was a lavish garden that would put any other garden to shame. There were even different flowers, most I didn't know the name of, framing the walkway leading up to the mansion. In the middle of the walk way that would have to walk around to get to the doors was a large fountain with what looked like a falcon center piece. Around the giant house that really no one would ever be able to fill no matter how many people you had staying with you were normal sized houses, most were made of wood but some were made with brick and they looked big enough for a large family of four.
"We should hurry inside so that we may begin explaining everything" said Alan and I nodded my head still in awe as I followed him.
"That's her isn't it?" whispered a man as we walked up the pathway. That made me realize just how many people had seemed to gather when the car pulled up.
"It's the princess, she is finally back, I never thought I would see the day" said an older woman, tears in her eyes and her hands clenched together like she was giving a prayer.
"You two pay attention, that woman is the one that is going to protect us and help us avenge Papa" said a woman smiling to two young children who had been playing before they saw me and were now looking at me in awe.
"Why are they all looking at me like that? Am I this princess that they are talking about?" I asked unsure after all I was not royalty at least last time I checked I wasn't.
"We will explain everything once we are inside" said Alan as people started to bow to us as we walked past them.

When we entered the house I didn't get much time to see much of the entrance hall but I did see a large door between two large staircases that went up to the next floor and a hallway to the left and right of the stairs, they led me down the hallway to the right. The hallway we walked down was just as lavish as the outside of the house, the walls were lined with lights that seemed to be made of crystal or it could have been diamond given the expensive paintings evenly spaced on the walls so that they weren't over crowded.
"Here we are, make yourself comfortable" said Tracy gesturing to a room that we walked into Alan closing the door as he was the last one inside. The sitting room was done in beige colours including the furniture which consisted of two three person couches, two love seats and one single seat which Elizabeth sat in while I sat on one of the love seats, Alan and Tracey sat on a three person seat together. While the room at the moment was lit up with natural light from the windows there was a large crystal chandelier and a fireplace that the seats were all placed to face.
"Now you must listen and listen carefully for we will only tell you this once and you will hold your questions until the end, do you understand?" Elizabeth firmly questioned pining with a look that dared me to fight her on it.
"Okay" I agreed, even though I already had a lot of questions they could wait since they would hopefully get answered with the explanation I was going to get.

"Firstly this world that we live in is not like everyone believes. You see this world is made with three different dimensional fabrics, not dimensions as in three different worlds but one world layered with three different layers" Tracey started to explain.
"The first dimensional fabric is what normal humans see so even if something like a vampire was in front of the human if they could only see the first dimensional fabric they would just see a good looking human, this dimension is known as the human dimension" she continued.
