Getting ready for school seemed to go by so fast. I was really dreading going back to school. I was already clothed and ready to go but I was stalling. Laying on my bed and staring at the ceiling provided enough therapy for me. The tiny voices in my head battled whether I should go to school or not. In the end the good voice won.
I walk downstairs to see Rafael sitting on the couch watching an old football game. He saw me come down the stairs and stood up. "We have to get going or we're going to be late." He handed me my backpack.
"Would that be so bad."
My leg was shaking in class. Raf seemed to notice. My claws kept popping out then going back in. I didn't want Scott to come up to me bombarding me with questions about what happened two nights ago.
Rafael leaned over to me. "Bee your claws. Where's your necklace?" He whispered.
I nodded my head back and he looked at my backpack that was hung around my seat. He unzipped a pocket and put the necklace on my desk. I slowly put it on trying not to show my nails. Once it was on I felt a rush of consolation. My breaths and heart rate slowed down. The necklace was the same as Maya's, it helps the wolf side calm down. We have three and they've all been passed down from generations to keep our identities a secret and our anger in check.
After third period we walked to lunch. So far so good, Scott and Stiles haven't tried to contact us... yet. We stopped at my locker, Raf leaned against the closed ones. I grabbed my lunch bag and closed my locker. I smiled up at him but he was looking over my head wearing an impassive face. I turned and saw Isaac Lahey and Erica Reyes. Raf gulps.
"If you would just excuse us, we will be on our way." I gave my fakest grin.
I grabbed Raf's hand and pulled him forward. Isaac and Erica stood in front of us, arms crossed.
"You're not going anywhere. Derek wants to know what you are" Erica said.
"Me?" I pointed at myself. "Us?" I pointed at Raf and I. Isaac tilted his head in confusion. "We're not dating. So tell Derek if he wants to date my friend that can't happen cause he's a minor."
"Real cute," Erica pushed Raf up against the lockers, "but we're not joking." She looked at me smugly and then popped out her claws. She traced them up and down Raf's chest. "It would be a shame if this hottie went to waste."
Isaac started slowly circling me. "We hear you have some sort of powers. Anything you'd care to share with the group."
"I really think you've got the wrong person."
Erica put her hand out, about to stab Raf.
"Dimiterre," I used my magic to send Erica soaring through the air. She landed with a thud and slid a couple feet on the ground.
Raf regained his balance and faced Isaac. "I'd leave if I were you. You're lucky she gives second chances."
Isaac ran towards Erica helping her up. Erica groaned, rubbing the back of her head, and sat up. They both stared at me bewildered.
"Phoebe, let's get out of here."
"See I told you, you can take them and you didn't have to take your necklace off. Did you see the look on their faces?! Priceless!" Raf exclaimed.
"So glad you got a laugh out of others pain."
"If it's their pain, hell yeah!" He paused and looked around. "Wait is that working?"
I was burning sage which makes the room we're in silent to anyone outside it. "Yes its working." We are in the art room so I continued to paint.
"We have Chemistry with them, and almost everyone involved in the supernatural crap. You know the two that tried to hurt us, Scott and Stiles, Allison and Lydia. Ever figure out what Lydia is?" Raf remembered.
