Summer rolled around quickly, we were already two months in. Maya was spending it with my uncle and aunt on my dads side, they love her like she's their own daughter, which makes sense since my aunt couldn't have children. They're also the only ones who are fine with me being a hybrid, other than my Grandma. My brother was also away at a warlock and witch camp, there they are taught by older, experienced witches and warlocks. I, on the other hand had no summer plans. Raf had none too so we hung out the whole time just like last summer.
Allison went to France with her father. I'm pretty sure Jackson went to London and is planning to stay there. Derek and Isaac have been gone, they've been keeping something from Scott and I, we both know it. Isaac hasn't talked to me since the night Derek dropped us off. I couldn't tell if he was ignoring me or forced to ignore me, either way it's frustrating.
Summer started off to a horrible start. Woke up in tears. Like I have been for the past weeks. I've tried everything, magic, teas, herbs, meditation, and even a dream catcher. At least with my siblings gone they don't have to be woken up by my crying, I did hex my room to be sound proof at night but sometimes when I wake up everything is so confusing that I accidentally drop the magic. Maya and Logan did in fact hate waking up to my screaming and crying. Sometimes they would try to comfort me by pulling out sleeping bags and sleeping on the floor next to me but it was no use. The empty house seemed so unusually without my siblings squabbling.
I was ready for the day, I planned it out perfectly. I would go to my favorite spot in the woods, that was actually my Grandma's favorite spot, it's only a couple minutes from her house. While I was on my way there I would visit my Grandma and give her the groceries I got for her yesterday. If I prod she might even go with me into the forest. It's a beautiful place, full of flowers and logs smothered in moss, my Grandpa, when he was still alive, made a wooden swing off two ropes and a slack of wood. A creek flows in between everything as well. My grandparents shared that place when they were young lovers, the only other person who knows about it is me. The rest of my day was to spend it there. Relaxing in its shade and taking in its scenic beauty.
I grabbed the groceries as I head out. When I open the door the first thing I notice is Lydia getting out of her car and walking towards me. She looks me up and down scanning my outfit which is very simple, just a long floral dress, white flats, and a white bandana in my hair. "Where are you going looking so ethereal?" She asked while shimming her shoulders.
I softly roll my eyes. "Nowhere exciting, so don't get your hopes up." I start walking out holding three bags of groceries in my hands.
"I'm having a party at my house and you're going!"
"Lydia, I'm really not in a party mood. I'm sorry but I'll definitely go to the next one!" I promise as I set the bags of food in the back of my car.
I look back at her and she was crossing her arms over her chest in disappointment. "But you have to go! It's our going away party!"
"Where are you- wait. Did you say our?! Lydia what did you do?"
"I may or may not have bought tickets for us to go to Paris, to see Allison."
Now it's my turn to cross my arms. "Didn't Allison go to get away from everything and everyone?" She sighed in frustration as I point the obvious out. "Lydia, I don't think this is the right time. Erica and Boyd are still missing, Derek and Isaac are doing god knows what, and Stiles and I are trying to help tutor Scott. Oh," I smirk, "and Rafael will be so bored without me, I'm really his only source of happiness."
She scoffs and throws her head back in a laugh. "First of all, I'm sure Erica and Boyd can hold their own. Second of all, I still don't really know who Derek is but Isaac is totally missing you," she added the Isaac part with a devilish grin which I dismissed with a wave of my hand. "Third of all, Scott and Stiles are fine without you. And don't forget that someone still needs to explain this supernatural shit to me."
