"Come on, Lydia! I'm being serious!"
"And I'm being serious too!" She holds up the shortest, thinnest, most revealing black dress I have ever seen in my life. Would it look good on her? Yes. On Allison? Yes. Even Stiles? Hell yeah. But me? Nope, I would look like an awkward barbie with a plastered on fake smile. "It's cute!"
Maybe I should've just went by myself.
"For you maybe," I sigh, "but Isaac never said where we were going on the date."
Allison gets a ding on her phone. Checking it, her eyes light up. "It's Rafael." Look like someone has a crush, I can't wait to get Raf to share everything. "He says, that Isaac says, that the date weather is going to get a bit chilly. But formal. Raf thinks that a dress would work great. He also said to recover, restore, revive?"
I laugh a bit too loudly. It's been a while since I've heard the Raven mantra. Allison gives me a look but doesn't question it.
"How about this one?" Lydia holds up a blue dress that actually isn't half bad.
"Try it, Phoebe," Allison prods. "We've got a few more hours before the date. And I think the guys are having better luck then us."
Raf, Scott, Stiles, and Isaac have all went shopping as well. I have no doubts that Raf is giving Isaac tips about me. I bet some of them are going to be blasphemous. "Fine." Lydia hands me the dress and I trudge into the changing room. I slip out of my clothes. I wiggle into the dress and its clearly not made for me. The dress fabric sags in the butt and the straps hang too low. I silently curse at my small ass. I push the door open and model walk to Lydia and Allison. I do a slow spin so they could get a look at the situation.
"Yeah," Lydia draws out. "That's my fault. Sorry."
She glances over to Allison who's holding a large pile of dresses. My eyes widen. I was gone for one minute. I shake my finger at them. "No. I refuse. Just cancel the date for me. Tell Isaac that I've caught the flu."
"Werewolves don't get sick," Allison points out.
Lydia picked a dress off the top of the pile. It was a paisley pink. "Changing room. Now."
We spent about three hours in the mall before finding the best dress that suited me. It was a dark green which Lydia thought would complement my hair and eyes. Lace spirals down my arm and fades out near the the bottom of the dress, like vines. Its knee length and the skirt doesn't poof out which is perfect for my frame. It's actually slick along my waist so that it shows more of my figure. Not to mention that the dress has a deep v-neckline that shows just the right amount of cleavage.
Allison is doing my hair as I stare at myself in the mirror. She's planning on curling all of it then doing a half up half down look with a gold clip holding my hair up. Lydia is hustling around her room trying to find a gold ring she wants to lend to me that she swears would go great with my outfit.
"Ah ha!" She pops up from under the bed, the ring in hand. "I knew I had it here somewhere!" She rushes over to me and slips the ring on. "Doesn't it look great?"
"I love it. Thank you guys for helping me out, I really needed it."
"You would've been fine without us. I'm just glad you came to us instead of Scott and Stiles," she laughs.
"That would've been a disaster." Lydia said as she applies a bit of make up on to my face. "There, I think you're all done."
"Already?" My tone is clearly panicky.
"Yeah, Isaacs coming in five minutes."
"Oh," I say, my voice slightly cracks. I grunt trying to clear my throat. "That quick?"
