"Hey can you meet me at the tree house?" I asked Raf who was on the other side of the phone.
"Yeah, you dropped off Maya and Logan?"
"Not yet, give me forty five minutes?"
"Sure thing Bee, take your time."
He hung up right after, I slid my phone into my jean jackets pocket, I was wearing headphones. I was washing the dishes while the murder podcast I was listening to came back on.
In the distance I heard a crash. I pulled off my gloves and took my headphones out.
"Well you know what?! At least I can control my my anger!"
"Maybe you should get that wart checked out, I happen to know witches get a lot!"
"I'M A WARLOCK NOT A WITCH!"
There was another crash. My hands pull my face down in exhaustion. I stood up straighter and walked into the living room with my angry face.
Logan was using his magic to try and zap Maya, Maya was bearing her teeth at him. They were chasing each other around the couch. I cleared my throat, no response, I cleared it once again, they were still chasing each other.
"Hey!" They froze, dead in their tracks. "I have had it! I am trying to be a good sister with out going completely ballistic! I feel like I'm losing my mind and you two aren't helping." I saw in a blog that you have to guilt trip them. Not the best method, yet it seemed effective enough.
They looked down at their feet in unison. "I'm sorry," Logan whined.
"Yeah I'm sorry too," Maya said still annoyed at Logan.
"Thank you for apologizing, you guys need to get to school, can you take the bus?" I held out their school bags.
Loan took his bag. "Yeah, that's fine," he mumbled.
Our treehouse has been in the middle of the woods. We made it when we were in the sixth grade. I put a cloaking spell over it so the only people who know about it is Raf and I.
I'm glad I decided to change into jeans and a grey t-shirt with a cartoon sun plastered across the fabric. I was already half way there when I heard a branch snap from behind me.
I turn around slowly.
It was Erica and Boyd.
"You guys scared the hell out of me!"
They burst into laughter. "What are you doing out here?" Boyd asked.
"Hmm after Saturday, I would think you wouldn't be so nosy again."
Boyd chuckled and so did Erica, which means they must've told her. I wonder who else they've told. Great. You probably looked like a freak.
"Well," Erica said changing the topic, "we're out here because we think there's a pack out here. But if we find them now we won't leave until after the games done. Do you think it's the pack you've come from?"
We started walking, they were going in the same direction as the treehouse. "No, they left a while ago and my coven is a whiles away. The pack's close enough to drive to but they would never relocate "
"Oh," she said clearly disappointed.
"How are you guys?'
"I'm good, I just can't wait to get out of this crazy town," Boyd answered.
"Same," Erica agreed, "what about you, Phoebe?"
"I'm good."
"I think she was talking about Saturday night, which you seem to be avoiding," Boyd said bluntly. Erica nodded.
