"Guys, I think I like Rafael."
I whip my head towards Allison who is in the backseat. I then turn and look at Lydia who's driving us to the mall. We share a knowing look. We both know Allison has had a crush on him.
"No shit," Lydia exclaims.
I shake my head in amusement, "Finally, you admit it. I thought we were going to have to torture it out of you."
In the review mirror I see Allison's jaw drop. "You both knew?!"
Lydia gives me a side wink. "Honey, we've known for a long time."
"How long?" She inquires.
I fake count on my fingers. "Since about," I draw out, "the time you first laid eyes on him."
"Bullshit," the hunter accuses.
"Bulltrue," I counter.
My response results in all of us looking at each other then laughing.
"Just so you know," I say after I'm done laughing, "Raf may like you too. But you didn't hear that from me!"
"He does?" Allison gapes. I nod my head. She might be trained to kill but she blushes like a regular teenage girl.
After a moment of silence, Lydia inclines her head slightly towards me while keeping her eyes on the road. "What's up with you and Isaac?"
I sigh and hit my head against my headrest. "Where to start."
"Preferably from the beginning," Allison says from the back. Lydia nods in agreement.
"Well, after Boyd died, I left him a voicemail saying I would be here for him whenever he needed me. He never called or texted back for a few days." I shrug, "But he was grieving so it's silly to even expect a text back. Anyway, then Scott called me saying that he's worried about Isaac and blah blah blah. So I go over and he's pissed, right, says something about how I don't grieve because I ignore the person away. And then I left. And I've kinda been avoiding him since."
"What a jerk," Lydia says with a disgusted face. "He didn't even say sorry."
"Oh," I cut in, "he did say sorry, I just didn't really want to hear it." They mull my words over for a while. The long silence allows worry to seep through my brain. "I'm doing too much aren't I? I'll call him tonight and apologize."
"No, no!" Allison grabs the phone from my hand like I was going to call him at this moment. "Wait for him to say sorry again and then it's up to you if you want to forgive him."
I smile at her advice. God know I needed some advice. Lydia parks the car and we get out.
I take the scene in once I'm finally out of my own head, I realize that this is not the mall. This is the school.
Lydia shakes her head. "Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. Not again. Call Scott and Stiles."
Allison fumbles while punching in somebody's number in her phone.
"It's another body, isn't it?" I ask Lydia while she leans against the car with a hand on top of her head.
"Aren't we a pair?" She laughs. "You have some freaky prophecy and prediction going on and I keep finding dead bodies."
I lean next to her while Allison speaks on the phone. "It's hard to forget that it's not our fault."
"Does that feeling ever go away?"
I shake my head. I think of Scott. I think of Derek. I bet that feeling will never stray away from them either.
Stiles's jeep pulls up along with Scott on his motorcycle.
