"It's not a double-date! It's a group thing. And don't worry Phoebe will be there with Raf."
Allison threw her head back in amusement. "Do they know it's a group thing? 'Cause I told you that I'm not ready to get back out there."
"You were in France and didn't do any dating for four months?" Lydia looked back at me, "You're telling me that Phoebe got more action then you?!"
Allison turned to look at me, her eyes wide. My cheeks flame red. I never told anyone I kissed Isaac, not even Raf. So how did Lydia know? The car feels like it's about to collapse under my touch, just from pure nerves. Isaac hasn't said anything since we kissed, and that was five weeks ago. Allison clears her throat urging me to talk about what happened.
"Umm, yeah." I scratch my jaw so my hands can do something other than be awkward. "I kinda, maybe, sort of kissed Isaac."
Allison squealed, "What! When! Oh my gosh! How was it? How was he? Do you like him?! How come you told Lydia and not me?!"
"I didn't tell Lydia! I don't know how she knows. It was before we went to France."
I see Lydia smile in the rearview mirror, her hands loosen on the steering wheel. "I may or may not have seen you guys when I was trying to get a drink. Don't worry I didn't see much, just enough to know that it was swoon worthy."
I can feel my cheeks turn red again. "Well don't get your hopes up. We haven't said anything to each other since the kiss. I didn't message him or anything. He probably realized he didn't actually like me, but I've gotten over it."
"Phoebe," Allison sighed, "don't over think it, guys are cowards. The kiss was probably so epic that he's too scared to mess it up."
I thought it was an epic kiss too. But yet again I was wrong.
"Anyway," I change the topic to anything but me, "how's Jack-"
"Do not say his name." Lydia snaps.
Allison exchanges a glance with me then back at Lydia. "Is he okay? I mean, did everything work out?"
"Well, the doctors looked like total idiots when he turned up alive, but everyone got over it. And yes, Derek taught him Werewolf 101, like, 'How Not to Randomly Kill People During a Full Moon."'
I forgot that I told Lydia all about the supernatural. Now that she knows she's trying to help find ways to deal with my nightmares.
I lean forward in my seat. I was sitting in the back while Allison was in the passenger seat and Lydia was driving. "Then you've talked to him?"
"Uh, not since he left for London."
"You mean, since his dad moved him to London." Allison corrected.
Lydia's mouth twitched. "Whatever. He left." She scoffed but it turns into a small laugh. "And seriously? An American Werewolf in London? Like, that's not gonna be a disaster."
Allison and I glance at each other again. "So, you're totally over him?"
"Would I be going on a double date if I wasn't?" I groaned and Allison dragged her face down with her hands. Lydia sighed at us, "Yes, it is a double date." We both glared at her. At least I have Raf, Allison gets some random dude. "It's not an orgy! You'll live."
"Let's drop this topic for now." I pat Allison on the shoulder.
"Yeah, let's." Her mouth curls into a mischievous smirk. "And we should change it back to Phoebe's kiss."
