Sudden rustles wakes me from my unconsciousness. The woods are replaced by a dimly lit room, at least what I believe to be a room. A sharp object drives into my side causing a scream to leave my now adrenaline pumping body. Sitting up straighter with a groan, an intuitive feeling makes me feel the multiple eyes that land on me.
"Now that you're up, we have much to discuss," an unfamiliar voice says. It strikes fear right into my heart.
Slowly turning my head, I realize my vision is still blurry. Rubbing my eyes, nothing happens to help it. "Sorry," another voice sounds, this one is slightly familiar, "it's the wolfsbane."
A moment or two of blinking rapidly and my vision finally clears. Observing the room, my eyes land on my kidnappers. A man, wise looking, stands with a cane at his side. The end of it drips with blood. My blood. Not to mention the sunglasses he's wearing, inside. A girl stands next to him, she's very pretty, my eyes dart to her bare toes and gawk at the sight. Not trying to be rude, but girl needs to cut her nails, those things probably violate so many health regulations. Behind those odd two, a pair of twins stand, they seem to be nervous. As they should be, if looks could kill, the glare I'm sending them would murder the two. Ethan and Aiden. One of them, still not sure which one, caught Lydia's eye. My attention trails away from them to a very large man. He's all muscle, other than a angry resting face. And that's it. The alpha pack.
"Ah," the old man breaks the silence. "Your vision is back, if only I could say the same."
If I wasn't so angry, I would consider laughing, even if he did kidnap me. I wonder how a blind man stabbed me with his cane. It's clear that he is the leader of the pack, I shouldn't underestimate him.
I try calling up my powers. Nothing. It must be the wolfsbane. I lean back in my chair, which, to my surprise is comfortable. Show no fear. Put on a mask. "Can I get something to drink? Soda? Juice? I'll take a water if it's all you have in this," I look around the room which is vaguely empty except for my chair, "place."
A scoff of humor comes from one of the twins. The blind man raises a hand, silencing which ever one made the sound. "How rude of me," the alpha says. "You don't know my name, it's Deucalion." He looks- turns over to the biggest in the group. "Ennis, please fetch our guest a glass of water."
My famous shit eating grin casts along my lips. The man known as Ennis mumbles a list of curse words on his way out. He goes through a door. That's my escape. If only I could bolt right out of here.
"Guest? Is that what you call everyone you kidnap?"
"Just the ones we don't kill," the girl hisses.
Laughter racks my body and I forget about the wound on my side until I'm slightly wincing. "Well that's reassuring."
"Do you know why you're here, Phoebe?" Deucalion asks.
"Yeah!" I exclaim sarcastically. "To enjoy this lovely room with you lovely people."
"Other than that," he taps his cane impatiently.
I place a finger on my chin as if I'm in deep thought. "Maybe I'm here because you're all fucking psychotic."
Before I could even blink, blood draws from a slash on my cheek. Deucalion's cane drips with even more blood. "Such vulgar language."
If I saw correctly, both of the twin's flinch. They're scared. I roll my eyes while whipping the blood away. It paints my palm red. "Can you stop the crap and say what you're going to say. I can't stand another minute in this godforsaken place." I think of home, of Logan and Maya waking up to me not home, without leaving a note or sending a message. Another realization hits. I could've been in the room for days. I can't tell what time it is. I can't tell where I am. Surely someone would've came for me.
