Staring and Snickering

As we walked, I continued my glare at Glenn.
"You can stare all you want Joce. Daryl and I are the grown ups and we get to decide."
I snickered,"That's the thing with grown ups. They treat kids like adults until they want them to do something. Then suddenly they're kids again."
Glenn ignored my comment.
"What would it have been like if Rick did this to you and Maggie?"
Again, Glenn ignored this. He shifted Jacob in his arms and looked around,"Where are some places to rest around here?"
My annoyance got the best of me and I blurted out,"I don't know. Let's just check into the nearest damn hotel. Then we can eat at the diner and then complain about their food that tastes like shit."
Glenn glared at me,"Watch your mouth!"
I rolled my eyes and took in there scenery around me.
Immediately I recognized it as the Triangle.
"In here." I said to Glenn.
He was the first person other than me, Key, and Stevan to go in here. He took it all in. He wasn't as enthusiastic as I thought he would have been. He took off his small jacket and made a small nest out of it. He then placed Jacob in it and shushed him soothingly to help him fall asleep.
I shuffled over to the small patch of dirt near the entrance. There, I would get a good look if something came through that opening.
I took off my small jacket and bundled it into the ground to make a pillow. I lie down and looked at the setting sun. Suddenly, Glenn was standing in the way. The stern look was still in his face.
He sat in he ground next to me when I sat up.
"You need to get over it. Carl and Daryl are off together and we have a better chance like this, okay?"
I looked at him,"No we don't. Both of these groups have a baby to weigh them down and it doesn't help that each group only has two for this huge journey. What happens if the Walkers kill one of us, the one person can't fight a whole herd of Walkers by themselves."
Glenn have me a look of doubt,"Don't even pretend that you're worried about me and Daryl. This is all about you horny teenagers wanting to be with each other to do whatever you horny teenagers do."
That angered me completely,"Well don't pretend that you separated us for the good of the group. You split up me and Carl because it reminded you of what you can't have with Maggie."
I did realize that I was being a bitch, but he was too.
He stood up and looked down at me,"Well, you guys aren't going in the same group together, so you can stop with the attitude."
"Don't tell me what the fuck to do."
He scoffed,"I can and will. I'm older. Rick and Lori left Carl in the hands of me, Beth, Daryl, and Maggie, therefore, he needs to do anything that we tell him. You should too."
He turned to walk in the other direction and I whispered,"Buy why? He's the first person that I have ever loved. Like loved loved and you took that away from me."
And he walked away.
