When we finished our slices of cake, Carl and I moved towards the tent entrance to leave.
As soon as I stepped outside, my foot was engulfed in a huge puddle of water.
"Daryl, Glenn. Come look at this." I yelled into the tent.
The two men rushed out and looked at my drenched foot.
The place where we were living was a low point in the earth, so the water was starting to fill up from the rain. If my judgement was correct, we had until the early morning before the whole area was flooded with water.
"We need to leave now," I said to the men surrounding me.
Daryl looked at the rain and nodded,"Go to your tent and pack up everything. We're going to higher ground."
Carl and I nodded raced to our tent. There was hardly anything to pack away considering that mid if out clothes were already in our small packs.
When all of our small knick knacks were packed away, Carl and I slowly took down the tent.
We were soaked by the time it was down.
Glenn and Daryl were waiting for us. Carl pushed the tent supplies into the bag that came with it and pulled it over his shoulder. He took just out of Glenn's arms and placed his father's hat on her head. It covered her whole body from the droplets of rain falling from the sky.
Daryl held Jacob close to his body, under his jacket so he baby wouldn't get as wet as the rest of us were getting.

We walked and walked for days, only stopping once a day to rest and renourish ourselves.
I thought we would be forced to keep walking for more days when Daryl stopped.
"This is high enough. This should be high enough so that the rain can't get to the top."
Carl and I pitched the tent with a lot of difficulty because the wind was blowing.
As soon as the tent was up, I crawled inside and lay there until my eyes started to close. The only thing I felt were lips on my forehead and then nothing.

I awoke to find myself laying on the ground and a small blanket lying on top of me.
Across the tent, Carl sat, reading his comic book.
"Morning."
He stood and came over to me,"Morning."
There was something wrong going on here.
"Carl, does something seem strange to you?"
He looked at me sort of funny,"No.Why?"
I shrugged,"Something doesn't seem right?"
He smiled.
I glanced at him in confusion,"What?"
"Did you look outside?"
I shook my head and walked to the flap of the tent.
It was dark outside. Dreary. But it wasn't raining.
Really, I thought, the day after we walked days, in the rain, to get to higher areas.
My annoyance soon faded when the sun's rays shined on my face. The heat melting away the cold that had been lingering around for weeks.
I suddenly heard static. Carl jumped up so I figured he heard it too.
We both walked to Glenn and Daryl's tent, where the sound had been coming from.
We walked in and Daryl and Glenn were staring at each other.
"What's that?"
Daryl replied absentmindedly," A radio. We found it in our run earlier."
"What's the matter?" I asked.
Daryl turned to me, the expression of shock all over his face,"Its over. All the Walkers are gone. The remainder of the government wants us to go into City Hall. They found a cure if it ever happens again."
"It's all over?"
"It's all over."
It's all over.
