Chapter Fifteen - Lighting You On Fire

Saturday, 18th July 2020

KRYSTALLIA

Ginger gulped before answering, "She wasn't like this when we first started dating. She was sweet and caring, but she started to change when we got to college. We were accepted into the same one and we spent almost every day together. But at some point during our second year, she started to skip out on dates, occasions, and whatnot. That's when I started speculating things."

He took a breath before continuing, "Her phone would ring in the middle of the night and she would cover it as her parents calling to check up on her. One time when I was heading to a friend's dorm though, I found her in bed with him. Apparently, she cheated on me with all of my friends and half the school, even my own brother."

Jesus Christ, the Lynns really don't like to stick to one guy.

"When I found out, I broke it off and started working here to get away from her. She blew up my phone, explaining how it 'wasn't what it looked like' and all, but I knew it was pure bullshit. My brother confessed to his mistakes and vowed to never do that to me ever again."

He glanced at me for a second before looking back at the ground, "She has never left me alone since and I blocked her on everything, but she managed to get unblocked and would annoy me. I changed my number but she continued to bug me on Instagram. Whenever I blocked her, she would create a new profile and contact me again. I couldn't get away."

Kris was looking at his bottle of beer before saying, "I'll give you thirty minutes to deal with her. If I come out to see that she's still on the lawn, I won't hesitate to put a bullet in her head and yours."

Cain nodded and bowed, giving me a glance before leaving for the front yard.

"And Zach, your ex is also one of them," Kris took a sip of his beer and Zach nodded.

"Before you start your story, I just want to mention one thing."

Kris got up and motioned for Zach to stand too. Sam and I sunk further into the couch from looking at their large frame. Zach was tall, but Kris was slightly taller and a little bulkier too.

"My sister has gone through enough shit and she needs a break. If I get wind that you hurt her in any way, no matter physically or verbally, I will hunt you down and personally torture you before killing you slowly. If she comes running to me crying, telling me that you broke her heart, I will decapitate your entire family and lay their heads on your bed for you to see before lighting you on fire."

Jesus, my brother is overprotective.

Zach gulped and nodded. Kris went and sat back down, "Now, please get on with your story."

Zach sat down and I placed a hand on his bicep to calm him down. He relaxed a little and started his own recap of his relationship.

"We met when we were 17. We were both the 'popular kids' if you put it that way, and like clichés, we got together. It was fine the first and second month, but it was the third month that things took a turn."

"She became distant and went back to her house late. Whenever I brought it up, she would say it was for a project or she had extra classes. I believed it at first until she skipped dates or wouldn't pick up my calls."

"One day when I was driving to school with my twin, we saw her in the hallway sucking off the football captain's face. I broke it off right there and then, she made excuses but I didn't listen. Ben and I transferred schools the next week with our friends and that was the last I saw of her."

Kris stared at him, sipping on his beer painfully slow. He swirled the liquid in the bottle a little, "They're both related?"

The question was directed to me and I nodded, "Cousins. Monica's the older one by one year."

"Then Zach, I'll give you..." Kris looked at me, "Actually no, Samuel."

Sam jumped at his name, "Yes?"

"Since you poured whiskey all over the floor, I'll give you thirty minutes to get the brunette out of our property. If I go out there and see her still standing..."

"...you'll put a bullet in her head?" Sam said quietly and Kris smirked, "And I'll put one in yours too."

Sam flinched and jumped over the couch, stumbling outside. Kris placed his beer on the table and gestured for me to go to him. I stood up and he held both of my hands, "Are you alright?"

I nodded and he cupped my face, "If you're not, tell me, okay? Don't hide things from me. You know you have me wrapped around your little finger and I'd do anything for you," he said and rubbed the back of my hand with his thumb.

"I know, Kris. I'll tell you if something's up."

"You have a title, the queen of Crystal Undead, use it, Krystal."

I shook my head, "I don't want to use my power to have my way."

"But just know that you can, alright? If you don't want to use yours, I'd use mine for you. You're my treasure and I would torture someone, run over someone, murder someone, all for you. You deserve the world, my princess."

I nodded and he stood up, pecking my forehead, "I love you, Krystal."

"I love you too, Kris."

He stared at me for a few more moments before walking away, taking his beer with him. I saw him throw Zach a glance before walking into the kitchen.

Zach looked at me, "I'm still terrified of your brother."

I shrugged and pulled on his hand. He stood up, wrapping his arms around me.

"Welcome to the Estrada family. We're crazy in the head."
