February 2015

Bo and Emily had let Sam lead them down to the basement as Mike and Ashley stayed upstairs to wait for Chris and the stranger to return. It was odd for Bo, as she had never seen this part of the lodge, and even more odd when Sam led them into a caged-like room that reminded Bo of the shed.

Slipping up onto one of the desks lining the walls, Bo let her legs swing in the air as they waited for the others to join them.

And a few minutes later, they did.

Only when Chris came through the door first, he had blood on his head and the stranger wasn't with him, nor behind Michael and Ashley as they rushed into the room behind him.

"Oh my God!" Emily blurted, "Guys! Thank God!"

Mike shut the door behind him.

"What took you so long?" Sam asked.

Chris shook his head as he leaned back against one of the other pieces of furniture a few feet away from Bo, "It's not so good up there right now─"

"Understatement of the night." Mike commented, cutting Chris off.

All of their words sent a chill down Bo's spine, making her sit straighter on the desk as her grip on the edge tightened, her knuckles turning white. What had happened? Did the Wendigo find them? Were they no longer safe in the basement? It had to know they were hiding somewhere inside, right?

"Chris..." Sam trailed, noting the same thing Bo had, "where's the flamethrower guy?"

"Ah yeah, he uh..." Chris trailed off, not looking up.

"He didn't make it?" Ashley exclaimed.

Bo and Emily shared a worried look as Emily groaned. He was their best shot at making it till morning. How would they do this without him?

"What happened?"

Chris wrapped an arm around his stomach, looking like he was ready to be sick, "The thing, it.. it tore him apart! Right in front of me!"

"Oh God..."

Bo's eyes trailed to Michael as he started moving around, looking around. Her eyebrows pinched. What was he looking for?

"Alright," Michael broke the silence that had started forming, "These all the doors?"

Sam nodded, confused, "Yeah."

"Are you sure?" He asked.

Bo raised an eyebrow. Pretty sure that was what yeah meant, but okay. Unless there was a magically hidden door ─ and knowing Mr. Washington it was entirely possible, but it wasn't like any of them would know where it was ─, the doors they could see had to be all of them.
