Bo knew something had to be off with Matt based off the way he was acting when they had finally arrived at the Lodge. Even if they had never been close, Bo still knew everyone's tells. And Chris and Josh were definitely keeping something from her as the three them stood in front of the door.
She wasn't an idiot, they had been keeping something from her since the last time they had seen each other back in December. When she had shown up to meet them at the theatre in the mall, they had quickly changed the topic they were discussing when she arrived.
Chris had looked at Bo too quickly to be anything but concern as he changed the words he was about to say to Josh, "Hey... you doin' alright? I mean it must be really tough without your sis─"
Bo winced as she shook her head at Chris. While she wanted to know what he originally planned to say, Bo knew the choice of words he went with were not the best option.
"Stop." Josh said.
While they did their best to avoid the topic while hanging out, for both Bo's and Josh's sake, Bo did think Chris had a valid reason to be concerned about Josh especially now that they were back up on the mountain. It just didn't seem to be the right time to ask.
"I just meant that─"
"No," Josh shook his head, his voice soft, but his words final, "I know what you meant. You know, seriously, I'm over it. And I just want us to have a really good time, you know? Like we always used to."
Josh didn't give either of them time to respond as he grabbed the lock, only for nothing to happen when he tried turning it.
"Dammit, this freaking thing..."
Bo went on her toes to look over Josh's shoulder, "Iced?"
Josh nodded, sighing heavily, "What else?"
"Maybe there's another way in." Chris suggested.
Bo and Josh gave him blank looks. There were a lot a doors and windows in the Lodge. There were probably even some ways in underground given how old the damn place was. And the fact that a movie director reconstructed the place. Bo was positive that Mr. Washington had wanted some 'secret' tunnels in his winter getaway. They really weren't a secret if everyone knew how they worked and where to find them.
"There are a million ways in, they're just all locked."
Chris looked around while Josh tried the knob again.
"There's gotta be, like, a window round the corner we can get, like 'get open' or something."
Bo's brows furrowed. Was he really suggesting that?
