February 2015

Bo had decided that this night had been the most physical activity she had partaken in since senior year mandatory gym class when Michael had challenged her in a race in who could beat the other in completing the mile first.

The only difference between now and then was the fact that Bo not only had a Wendigo bite that still hadn't been checked out and cleaned up so it didn't get infected in the crook of her neck, but also the cut on her thigh that she had completely forgotten about until she started rushing after Sam in an attempt to ignore how much her body was aching.

She really was not in the shape for this.

And Sam hadn't even told them why they needed to find Michael. Or maybe Bo just hadn't paid attention to why. She wasn't sure which it was.

"Come on guys! Hurry up!" Sam called back to them as the group traveled through the tunnels, "We gotta find Mike. Come on."

In Bo's defense, she was the most injured out of all of them and exhausted from being up so long as well as the strain on her body. She was pretty sure Chris was the next in line for being in bad shape since Emily seemed to have a bit of energy left in her that was mostly being used to make sure Bo was keeping up with her as they trailed after Sam.

Bo eyed Chris worriedly, even if she was sort of mad at him, as he leaned against the side of the wall.

"Hey.. ahh... I'm kinda gimping out here, guys.. I think maybe you should go on without me."

Emily shrugged, pulling Bo with her to catch up with Sam since it seemed Ashley was sticking with Chris to check on him. As they continued down the tunnel, Bo felt her stomach churning, but not a nauseous way and rather in more of something bad sort of way.

Bo, although not having liked sitting in one spot for safety, was regretting leaving. Yeah, she didn't want Michael to die and going alone was suicide ─and very stupid of him, but his track record for thinking things through the past year wasn't all that great anyway so Bo couldn't really be surprised, now could she? ─, but couldn't just two of them go and find him while the other three stayed in the safe room so that they weren't risking losing everyone on this mission?

Sam hadn't been far, waiting just a couple yards away as Ashley and Chris's voices carried in the tunnel. That felt like it was telling the Wendigo where to find them and Bo really didn't like it.

Emily and Bo turned the corner after Sam when Chris pushed himself off of the way to continue on with them. Sam was a few feet ahead of them as she led them around corners through the tunnel until they seemed to reach a dead-end. Emily and Bo squeezed each other's hands as they stopped a few feet before the doors.
