LOST GIRL; CHAPTER ONE
i'll do it one more time─────
April 2014
Bo shifted on the couch, leaning her head onto the arm. Soft music played in the room as Bo waited for Dr. Keller to finish writing some of her notes from what they just talked about down before continuing.
"Alright, you said that the police have started to stop actively searching since your visit last month, correct?"
Bo nodded, watching the piece of paper on the edge of the coffee table in between them move from the air being blown by the fan.
"Yeah. My parents stopped letting me join the searches after the first two initial ones, but Josh has been keeping me updated on everything. He knows that I feel guilty for coming back to the Lodge despite my attire."
Dr. Keller smiled softly at Bo, but Bo didn't return it. "And you and Josh have talked about more than just his sisters, right?"
Bo sat back up, tucking her hands under her legs as she wiggled her toes in her sneakers.
"We only talk about them when he's giving me updates, which is really only every other week now. Most of the time we do what we always have, talk about movies and shows and how realistic they are."
"Have you.. reached out to any of your other friends?"
Bo shook her head. "They aren't my friends anymore, remember? Jessica and Emily got into a fight of their own about my reaction to them trying to help me and even if Emily started agreeing with my side of things, she still refused to acknowledge that she was just as much at fault as Jessica and..." She choked on the name, jumping over it to continue talking. "So, she still doesn't want to talk to me. I'm not going to reach out and try to fix things unless she's willing to start admitting her part in it."
Dr. Keller sighed, placing her pen and clipboard down on the table.
"Bo, we've been over this. You know Emily, you've told me she can be pretty prideful sometimes with her fear of failure. I think she knows she was in the wrong, but just needs some help in talking about her part in the prank. You could─"
"I don't want to be someone's therapist." Bo snapped, looking at Dr. Keller. Bo sighed at the kind look in her eyes. Dr. Keller was only here to help and taking out her anger on the woman being paid to help her was not going to solve things. "I know I... could talk to Emily. It's just that the last time we even saw each other, neither of us wanted to back down. We clash too much."
Dr. Keller smiled at Bo, "And we've discussed how patient you are. I know you're not willing to confront Emily about it, but maybe work toward just small things. Like being able to say his name."
