LOST GIRL; CHAPTER EIGHT
nature's gift─────
February 2015
Bo was a bit glad that neither Matt nor Emily tried asking her more about what happened in the shed while they walked down to the cable car station ─ where Emily decided they definitely should go to try and get help. Bo was pretty sure there was a station or something somewhere on the mountain with a radio, but she didn't know where it was, nor was Josh available for her to ask.
Matt held the gate open for Bo, who trailed a little behind the couple.
"You could've gone back to the lodge with them to find Sam, you know." He said, "You don't have a jacket, you're gonna get cold pretty fast, Bo."
Bo smiled, "It's fine. It's not like we'll be outside the whole time. I can always warm up in the station and the cable car."
"If you're sure..." Matt glanced at Emily, who was a little ahead as he shut the gate behind Bo, "If you get too cold, let me know. We can rotate my jacket."
"Thanks." Bo whispered.
Her and Matt had never been the closest, but it was nice to know that whatever animosity was between her and Emily didn't extend to him when they had started dating.
Bo glanced back at the faint sound of a click, her brows furrowing.
"Did you hear something?" Matt asked.
Bo gulped, glancing at him before back at the gate and reaching for it, trying to open it. She huffed. What the hell?
"It's locked. Who the hell, who did that?" She muttered, giving up on trying to open it. Why was everything electronic up here? Did the Washington's have to have the best of the best things for a place they didn't frequent much, especially over the past year?
It was just like the door in the shed.
"There's some seriously uncool shit going on up here." Matt agreed, nodding toward where Emily was getting further and further away, "Come on, let's catch up."
Bo nodded, giving the gate a weird look before trialing behind Matt as they walked faster to get back to Emily. Once they had gone down the slope, to where Emily had stopped after noticing they had gotten a little behind, the three continued on together toward the station just ahead.
"I can't believe Josh is dead." Emily said.
Bo resisted the urge to flinch again. Her small bit of happiness at the fact that it hadn't been brought up was shattered now.
"I can't believe how he died..." Matt gave Bo a side glance.
"No, I mean, what if you guys were wrong?" Emily turned to Bo, "I know you're a horror fan and all that, but on screen and real life are too different things, right?"
