LOST GIRL; CHAPTER FOUR
all this anger in me─────
February 2015
After Bo and Chris wandered around the Lodge trying to find the bathroom with the spray can, getting spooked at how creepy it all seemed in the dark, and having a baby wolverine jump out at them in the same place the stupid deodorant happened to be, they had finally made it back down to the door to melt the ice around the lock so that everyone could get inside.
Bo placed her bag at the bottom steps as everyone filed into the Lodge, her shoulders happy now to have the weight no longer pushing them down.
"Home sweet home." Josh said.
"Sweet is not the word I'd use." Bo heard Matt mumble as he placed his and what she assumed were Emily's bags down near the doorway.
"Oh my gosh, it's so good to be inside. Even if it's still kinda freezing in here."
Ashley wasn't wrong, but the Lodge hadn't had any occupants in months and Bo was pretty sure the Washington's weren't rich enough to constantly just leave the heat running all the time. Actually, the more Bo thought about that, they probably were. But why waste the money?
Josh walked near Bo, passing her to get to the fireplace, "I'll get a fire going."
Bo leaned against the fireplace as Josh kneeled down in front of it, crossing her arms as she just listened to the others talk amongst themselves. What was she even supposed to say? She had barely talked to any of them since the funeral nine months ago. Even then, she hadn't really talked to them unless they approached her.
"This place barely looks any different."
"Nobody's been up here." Josh told Matt.
Bo looked over at him, watching his expressions. He obviously didn't want to talk about last year all that much, wanting to focus on the good times. Josh had gotten pretty good at keeping a neutral expression to the point that even Bo was having a hard time figuring out if he was faking it or not.
"Even with all the police coming in and out?"
"Not a lot of action up here lately." Chris told Ashley.
Josh agreed, "Nope."
"What's up party people!" A familiar voice called out.
Bo tensed, dropping her gaze to her shoes as Munroe and Jessica walked in, greeting everyone. Bo kept her line of sight as Munroe walked past her slowly, and Bo was pretty sure she could feel him looking at her but she was not about to find out for sure, as Josh greeted them back.
"Make yourself at home, bro."
"Will do."
Bo's brows furrowed as Matt stood up from where he had sat down, approaching Mike, "Yeah, come on in. Take a load off. Have whatever you want, you just take whatever you want anyways, right?"
