Oh no, Christina!

Miles

I couldn't stop thinking about August and Eliza. I also was so confused on what I even saw. Like why the fuck did August just come into the bushes and kiss her? Were they dating? How did Eliza even know her? I guess Mercury was right... he did see her that day at Deja Brew. Keeping this a secret was going to be hard.

I walked into the building heading to calculus class. I saw Arson up ahead at his locker talking to Christina. Christina had been away the last week visiting her grandparents in Toronto. She was a part of our main squad which included Mercury, Arson, Christina, Kelsey and Carlos. Carlos disliked me unenthusiastically as he was jealous that I was captain, and he wasn't. Even though I was obviously better than him and every single part of lacrosse. Arson closed his locker and noticed me walking towards him. I stared at his outfit for a while, disappointed that he was wearing a long sleeve shirt.

"Hey, Miles!" He said and walked over to me. He patted my back with his palm and then we walked together to Calc.

"Okay, so Mercury told me that you were a little angry about the Julia thing, and yeah that was shitty of me to do." Arson said.

"Let's not talk about that. It's fine." I said, not wanting to be reminded of Arson with Julia.

"Seriously, Miles. I am sorry. I did ask you and you said you two were a thing, but you were blowing her off all night, so I was like clearly you don't care. And then I saw you go off with Andrea and I was like okay well clearly, he doesn't care. I am sorry." He said then patted my back again. He needed to stop doing that before I kissed him accidentally.

"It is fine. Like, it was Julia, she is so fucking annoying. The second-hand embarrassment I get from that girl, phew!" I joked. Arson chuckled at me and patted my back, once again.

"Hahaha, you are not wrong. She's hot though. I kind of liked having your sloppy seconds." Arson joked; we walked into the classroom.

"Oh my god, fuck off." I joked.

As soon as he said that I realized that he had put his body where mine once was. In reality that meant nothing as Julia had showered many times between us, but I still realized how close our bodies had been. I sat down in my spot near the back of the room. All class I couldn't stop thinking about how I needed to sleep with a girl who had just slept with Arson. But by the end of the lesson, I realized how creepy and psychotic that was. But maybe being a psycho was worth it...

When I got to English class, I saw Tau sitting in his usual spot. I knew that he was friends with Eliza. I wondered if he knew about August and Eliza. Based on Eliza's reaction I assumed no. Tau sat at his desk with nothing on it. In his hand was some book I didn't recognize. He often did that in English, sat there reading a book that had nothing to do with the class. The teacher never seemed to care. I saw Christina walk in and sit beside me.

"Hey Milesy," She whispered. I often couldn't tell if she was flirting with me or if she was just a flirty person.

"Hey, how was Toronto?" I asked.

"It was very fun. But I feel like I missed a lot. I'm glad to be back. Are you ready for the game tomorrow night?" She asked. We had been friends since Grade 9 but whenever we talked after a while without talking it was always so awkward and had the biggest small-talk vibes.

"Yup," I awkwardly said.

After the bell rang, I walked with Christina to Arson's car. When we got there only Mercury was there, leaning against the passenger door.
