L and (Y/N) taking care of some puppies for the day!

" Misa, would you care to explain why there are currently 3-no, 4 dogs in headquarters?" L asked as he stared at the tiny dogs.
" It's for this puppy charity event I'm doing later." She says and looks at her phone.
" Well, they can't exactly stay he-" " Oh my god they're absolutely adorable!" L looks over to see you holding onto a small corgi.
He felt his heart light up with joy as he saw his significant other hold the puppy.
" Oh shoot! I forgot I have a photo shoot in 15 minutes! Ryuzaki, (Y/N), please watch the puppies for like 2 hours while I go out." She begs.
" We have work to do today-" " Light said you went over paperwork and theory's yesterday and that you guys don't have anything else to do today." She says and rolls her eyes.
" I love dogs, I'll gladly help you with them Misa!" You say and scratch the puppies on the head.
" See! (Y/N), is willing to help!" She says and points at you.
L sighs and puts down his paperwork.
" Fine, I'll help too." Misa thanks him and gives you both directions.
" Here are their names." She says and hands you a piece of paper with their name and breads on it.
" Ellie, golden doodle, Joel, German Shepard, Tommy, German Shepard, and Tess, Pembroke Welsh Corgi." You read off the paper.(A/N: Please, can at least one person get the name references.)
" Well my favorite is Tess." You say and pick up the small corgi.
Tess barks happily at you.
" Alright, I'll call you guys in an hour." Misa says and leaves.
After Misa leaves, the puppies began to play and run around.
" So, what should I do?" L asks as he walks into the puppy play area.
" Here, play with Ellie." You say and hand him Ellie.
Joel apparently didn't like that and barked at L until he put her down.
" Well, Joel didn't like you. Maybe Tommy will?" You say and hand him Tommy.
Joel barked at him again.
" Really Joel?" L sighs and sets down Tommy.
Joel looked happy once he did that.
" Come and play with me and Tess." You say and hand him a toy.
Tess happily chewed on the squeaky duck.
After about an hour of playing, Joel, Ellie,Tommy and Tess fell asleep.
" Wow, they must've been tired." You whisper.
You felt your phone vibrate in your pocket.
'Must be Misa.'
You think and answer the phone.
" Hi (Y/N)! How are you guys and the puppies?"
" We're all okay, Joel doesn't really like Ryuzaki though." You and Misa laugh.
" Well I'll be back in like an hour, so see you soon!" You said your goodbyes and hung up.
You and L looked at the sleeping puppies and smiled.
" Man, I really wanna adopt them." You say and frown, knowing L would say no.
" Are they up for adoption?" He asks and eats some of his cake.
" I'm guessing since Misa said they were for a charity event." You say and grab the strawberry on top of his cake.
" Do you really want one?" L asks.
Your eyes widen as you shake your head yes.
" I want one of them, but I know how busy we both get and I don't want them feeling neglected." You tell him.
" I see. Well I'll ask her." He says and sips his tea.
After another hour of the puppies sleeping, Misa came back.
" So, how were they?" She says and pets Tommy.
" They were good! Joel didn't really like Ryuzaki though." She laughed.
" Are they up for adoption?" L asked as he handed you a cup filled with tea.
" Yup! After the charity event, people will be able to adopt them." Misa explains.
L looks at you and he can see how much you wanted them.
He sighs.
" Can we adopt them?" He can hear you scream in excitement.
" R-Ryuzaki! You better not be messing with me!" You yell at him.
He smiles and reassured you that he wasn't.
" Oh wow! Okay I'll tell my manager that you'll be taking them!" Misa says.
" YES! ELLIE, TESS, JOEL , TOMMY, COME HERE!" They run and jump on you.
You laugh and hug them tight.
Misa giggles at your childish antics.
L looks at you and smiles.
He was glad that you were happy, although he was pretty worried that Joel would keep barking at him.
But nonetheless, he was happy.
