When L told the task force that he had a younger sibling and that they were coming to help with the case, they expected them to be maybe a year or two younger then L. What they didn't expect was his sibling to be 14.
After L left Wammy's House, you felt lonely.
Your older brother left when you were 8 and not seeing him for 6 years took it's toll on you.
So when you were contacted by L to help in the Kira investigation, you were ecstatic.
" (N/N)! Come on let's go play some video games." Matt says running up to you, Mello not far behind.
" I'm sorry not today. I'm leaving for Japan in the morning and I have to pack." Their eyes widened.
" And you didn't think to tell us sooner?" Mello deadpans.
" Sorry..." you say to them.
" How long are you going there?" Matt asks, sad to see his gaming buddy leave.
" Well I'm there to help on a case, so maybe a few months." You say sadly.
" You'll write letters right?" Matt says hopefully.
You smile at him and nod.
" Of course. I'd never leave you guys high and dry." You tell them.
Matt laughs while Mello smirks.
" Did you tell Near?" Matt asked.
" Yeah, I told him before you went to find me."
You all stand in the hall for a few minutes, enjoying the comfortable silence.
" I should probably go pack. You guys can come if you want." They nod and follow you to your room.

" Come on Ryuzaki, give us more details!" Matsuda begs L for more information about his younger sibling.
" Matsuda, I haven't seen them since I was 16, when I left they were still playing with chalk and drawing with crayons. I don't know what they're like today." L says and takes a bite of a chocolate covered strawberry.
" Ryuzaki, this letter has been sent from them." Watari says and hands L an envelope.
He immediately stands up and goes to another room to read the letter.
'Dear L,
Hey it's (Y/N), miss me? I hope you're doing well without your little sibling. I miss you, and in case you were wondering, I don't play with toys anymore, I hang out with Mello and Matt and we like to play video games. My taste in clothing has changed a lot too. Remember when you used to read me picture books from before I couldn't read? Good times. Now our sibling bonding is going to help catch a mass murderer. Well at least I'll be there, the teachers hate me. One time, my English teacher scolded me because I was such a trouble maker and you were such a "kind" and "sweet" child. She kept saying " Why couldn't you have been like your brother?" and all that crap. Were you really such a suck up? Anyways, I'll see you soon.
