Remus and Sirius were curled in exactly the same positions as when they had fallen asleep when Alastor Moody burst into their bedroom at the crack of dawn. 'What in the name of-' Remus muttered, lifting his head. Sirius was awake but pretending not to be and Remus knew it. 'Are you who you say you are?' He burst out, coming through the door. 'What? Oh, hang on-' Remus said, beginning to sit up.

'No, it's ok, I can see it's actually you.' Remus was confused, neither of them had left the house, but too tired to care. Remus lay back down and moved his arms so Sirius could shift his head back onto Remus' chest. 'Good morning.' He mumbled, still pretty much asleep. 'Any idea what Mad-eye wanted with us?' Sirius grunted in response and shuffled closer to Remus. There was a timid tap on the door and Remus assumed it was Harry. 'Come in.' He said loudly.

'Morning. Any idea why Mad-eye's here?' Harry asked, stumbling into the room and rubbing his eyes. Remus waited until he'd perched at the end of the bed and Sirius had started snoring softly again. 'Nope. You can go downstairs if you want, or go back to bed. I'm not getting up yet," Remus said playfully.

"Goodnight then." Harry laughed.

'Yeah. Go back to bed, kid, we'll wake you up in time for breakfast, whenever that might be.' Remus smiled at Harry as he backed out of the room, and curled closer to Sirius.

'He's a good kid.' Sirius mumbled, opening his eyes for a split second. 'Molly did a good job with him.' Remus hummed thoughtfully, squeezing Sirius tighter still. 'Trying to squeeze the air out of me, Moony?' Sirius joked.

"Yep!" Remus loosened his grip even so, then stretched, "neither of us are gonna sleep now, we may as well make breakfast.' The two men took a  detour to Harry's room, expecting to see the boy asleep.

'Harry? I thought you were going back to bed.' Remus grunted, seeing the boy perched at his desk writing letters.

'Mrs Weasley, Hermione and Ron are all stressing... well, Ron's complaining about the other two stressing. Thought I'd write back seeing as I got four from Mrs Weasley, two from Hermione and one from Ron.' Harry said dryly.

'Four?! Alright, we'll be downstairs making breakfast, pancakes sound alright?' Harry gave an encouraging nod and peered behind Remus at Sirius.

'I'll be down as soon as I've finished writing these.' Harry gestured to the pile of parchment and Remus let Sirius steer him from the room.

Remus knew Harry was a very intelligent child, given he had taught him for a year, but hadn't exactly understood his knowledge of common sense. That was probably one of the only things Harry lacked. 'Harry doesn't have a huge amount of common sense, does he?' Remus said, lowering his voice in case the boy chose that moment to come down the stairs. Sirius pulled himself onto the counter and bit into an apple thoughtfully 'I suppose it's how you look at it, but no not really.' Sirius said pointedly.

'True.' Remus muttered, turning back to the frying pan. 'FIRST PANCAKE'S READY, HARRY!' He yelled, and he heard Harry set his quill into his inkwell before coming down the stairs. 'Done those letters?' He asked, setting Harry's plate and an assortment of sauces on the table.

'No.' Harry admitted. 'I love her to death but Mrs Weasley is so... panicky, all the time. Hermione wrote a whole roll of parchment on what to do if my scar hurt and Ron wrote a whole roll of parchment insulting Hermione then complimenting her. 'Hermione's so annoying, bossy as well, but she makes good company. She keeps giving me that look, you know the one she gives you when she's reading, beautiful eyes though. Hermione had to patch me up the other night, got into a fight with Fred and George, it was like getting told off by Mum, soft hands though.' Those two will be the death of me. If they stopped bickering for five minutes maybe they'd actually open their eyes and get together!' Remus actually snorted with laughter, knocking the sugar bowl off the table.
