Professor Dolores Umbridge

Two weeks into his new job at Hogwarts, Sirius was reasonably happy. There was only one problem, of course. Dolores Jane Umbridge. The first time she'd layed a hand to Harry, Sirius and Remus had charged up to her office and demanded she hand over all her torture quills. She had refused. When they found out she had harmed Ginny, Luna and Neville, Sirius broke into her office and tried to take all the quills himself, but couldn't touch them. Remus had been in contact with the Ministry, but Fudge had refused unless Remus registered himself as a werewolf. Remus was all set to do it, but Sirius stopped him, saying that there must be another way. Now, it seemed that registering Remus really was the only way. Still, Sirius was determined to do it differently, without affecting their lives.

'Remus. You can literally just fire her! You're headmaster!' Sirius burst into Remus' office, grinning madly, 'Sirius! You're a genius! Why didn't we think of that before?' Remus kissed Sirius deeply before the pair sped to Dolores' office.

'Dolores.' Sirius said as pleasantly as he could manage. Toad-Face looked up, her stupid smile already on her face. 'Black, Lupin, what do I owe the pleasure?' Sirius smirked, leaning on the doorframe while Remus invited himself in. He didn't go too far, because Sirius was keeping a firm grip on his hand, purely to piss Dolores off. She hated the fact they were gay. 'I'm afraid I had a meeting with the rest of the staff, and we have decided-' Remus wasn't able to finish, because Minerva barged in, dragging Ginny behind her. 'Dolores.' Minerva said, 'I wonder... could you explain how this scar appeared on Miss Weasley's hand?' Dolores glared daggers at Ginny, and leaned forward to examine her hand. Sirius could clearly see the Toad-Face digging her ugly fingernails into the scar, causing Ginny to wince. Sirius and Minerva both reached out at the same time to pull Ginny away, and Ginny was pulled back to Minerva's side. 'I'm afraid I wouldn't know, Minerva.' Dolores said in her sickly sweet tone. Sirius snorted with suppressed laughter, but didn't say anything. 'Well how odd, Miss Weasley seems to be under the impression that you did this to her hand.' Minerva said dryly. Toad-Face looked angry now, glaring at Ginny. 'How dare you-'

'The same way you dared torture my family right under my nose.' Sirius said nonchalantly, looking up from his hands and raising his eyebrows at her. 'The same way you dared to murder your best friends?' That was it. Sirius opened his mouth to speak, but one hard squeeze of his hand told him to shut up.  'He didn't do that, he would never do that.' Remus said. 'Now what I was saying before Minerva came in with proof that this is the right decision, is that you're fired, Dolores.' Sirius smirked triumphantly at her, swinging Remus' hand. Ginny was grinning, and Minerva was clearly trying very hard not to smile. Luna chose that moment to enter. 'Oh hello, Ginny, what are you doing here?' Luna asked, picking up Ginny's hand. 'I just came to pass a message on to Professor Lupin.' Luna let Ginny kiss her before turning to Remus. 'Professor Sprout asked me to let you know that she and Professor Flitwick have called a staff meeting, they said to tell all the head of houses and you, but I'm sure it won't matter if you go along too Professor Sirius.' Ginny's grin had widened, and Minerva let go off her shoulder so she could stand with Luna. 'Thank you, Luna, we'll be there.' Sirius assured her, and she and Ginny left, still holding hands. Sirius, Remus and Minerva left too, leaving Dolores to pack up her office. 'Miss Lovegood did that purely to irritate Dolores, didn't she?' Minerva mused. 'As did the pair of you.' She gestured to their entwined hands, and Remus and Sirius shared a smile before answering. 'Maybe.' Sirius grinned. He felt mischievous. 'Don't be jealous, Minnie, you can hold my hand too.' Sirius caught Minerva's hand in a firm grip, smiling cheekily. 'You will be the death of me, Black.' She sighed. Sirius just grinned.

Being back at Hogwarts was everything Sirius had imagined. Some things were painful, like where Sirius, Remus, James and Peter had carved their initials into the dorm room wall. Yet some things made Sirius laugh, like corridors where James had made a fool of himself in front of Lily. They walked through a particular corridor where the Marauders had all met before graduating, and it was still a stabbing pain. He glanced up at Remus, who smiled sadly and squeezed his hand. 'As much as I treasure your company,' Minerva said dryly, 'I must go and let Poppy know she will have several students going by the hospital wing to have their hands healed.' Minerva turned left, while Sirius and Remus headed to the Headmaster's office.

'Come on Moony! I said I'd take the third years to Hogsmede with Min- oh fuck! We've got that staff meeting.' Sirius smacked himself in the head. 'Um, you go along to the meeting and tell them I'll be there when we get back, save the third years from Filch.' Sirius kissed Remus in the safety of the Headmaster's office and sped off down to the steps.

'Come on kids. Now, Minerva's not here, so you're going to pretend I said that boring speech. Anyone who hasn't got permission stay here, everyone that has follow me.' Sirius didn't waste a single second, and set off on a brisk walk to the carriages. 'Right, Professor Trelawny is waiting at the other end, off you go.' Sirius ran all the way back to the castle and went straight to the staff room. He flashed Remus a smile taking an empty seat next to him and McGonagall. Sprout and Flitwick were at the heads of the table, smiling at everyone. 'Now, we called this meeting to discuss the appointment of Dol-' Sprout was cut off, because Dolores stormed in.

'Didn't Remus fire you this morning?' Sirius asked, irritated. She gave a sugary huff and stood with her arms crossed a little way into the room. 'I believe he never got permission from the Minister.' Sirius was trying to hold himself, Remus and Minerva in their chairs, sensing fury wouldn't get them anywhere. 'Oh for Merlin's sake! Who cares? We all want you gone anyway so you may as well piss off.' Sirius said. Minerva struggled out of Sirius' grip and stood up, her face red with rage. 'Dolores.' She said coolly, 'I believe our Headmaster fired you earlier today. So unless you leave now, I'm afraid I shall have to report you for trespassing.' Toad-face gave one of her little huffs and stormed out. Glancing out the window, Sirius realised most of the school were gathered in the courtyard. 'Big problem.' He said, pointing outside. The staff fought like children to be the first ones out there, and Minerva ended up winning that battle. 'CAN I ASK,' she started, 'WHY WE ARE ALL GATHERED IN THE COURTYARD?' Sirius squeezed Remus' hand and pointed to the suitcases in the middle. 'WHO'S STUFF IS THIS?' Sirius yelled, indicating the bags. 'Umbridge's, Professor.' Sirius suppressed a snort. He should've known those pink, ugly, frilly things belonged to Toad-Face. 'AND WHERE IS UMBRIDGE?'

'Here.' Sirius spun round, and Umbridge appeared, pink cheeked and fuming. Sirius almost cried with laughter at the sight of her. 'Ok, well can you leave?' Sirius asked, nudging one of the bags with his toe. Umbridge gave another sickly sweet huff and picked up her bags before apparating out. The school erupted into cheers, and Sirius even saw some of the teachers let out a whoop. He was probably celebrating the loudest, glad to be rid of Toad-Face.

'NO MORE TOAD-FACE!'
