Chapter 56

*The next morning*
I woke up and looked around. It seemed like I slept all by myself, I tried to get up and felt my legs fail. I used my powers again to talk over the speakers. "Hello can someone come and help me?" I asked and waited for 10 minutes but no one came. I created a wheelchair and climbed in it before going out of Steve's room to look for the others. I couldn't find anyone, I tried to call everybody and no one picked up. "That's weird." I thought to myself as I rolled myself into the kitchen. I tried to stand on my feet to grab a bowl but failed. "Ugh where is everyone." I thought to myself as I used my powers to get a bowl. I went to grab cereal and milk but neither were there so I placed the bowl back and sighed deeply. I rolled myself into the living room as everyone walked in and I crossed my arms as they all stopped in their tracks and stopped talking. "Yes hello, I'm still here." I said sarcastically as I waved at them with a fake smile. "Learn how to communicate please." I said as I rolled passed them, I went to the stairs to go up to the roof but realized I couldn't get up there. I tried with my wings but my body is too weak. "UGH!" I grunted as I rolled to the training area. I climbed out of the wheelchair and laid down in the middle of the ring. "NO!" I yelled as Peter tried to walk in. This repeated itself with everyone but Steve just walked in anyway and pulled Bucky and Peter with him. They all laid down with me, Steve on my right, Bucky on my left and Peter above me. "Jackasses." I said angrily as I stared at the ceiling and they all tried not to laugh. "Really? You guys think it's funny that I can't stand or walk and that you guys left me by myself with no cereal or milk and nit even the decency to answer my calls?" I asked as I sat up and turned around so I could look at all of them. They all sat up too and looked at me. "Sweetheart we just didn't expect you to wake up before we got back." Steve said and reached for my hand. "Oh so you just go AWOL on me?" I asked and looked at him. "Makes total sense." I said sarcastically and fake laughed. "How stupid of me." I said and pulled myself towards my wheelchair, I heard them all get up and walk towards me. "Don't." I said and climbed in the wheelchair before rolling myself outside. I looked down and realized I forgot to change my clothes, I sighed but kept going but was too irritated and slipped a lot. "UGH I JUST WANT TO FUCKING WALK!" I yelled as I fought the urge to pull my own hair. I started crying out of frustration as Tony kneeled down in front of me and took my hands away from my head before he hugged me. "Dad what is wrong with me? Why can't I walk?" I asked as I hugged him back and cried on his shoulder. "Sssst sweetheart it's okay, you used a lot of your body's strength when you saved all those people. Your body needs time to recover." He said and I shook my head. "I healed myself." I said and Tony pulled away, placing a hand on my cheek. "Let's go to Bruce and get you tested okay?" He asked softly and I nodded. He smiled and kissed my cheek before pushing back inside to Bruce's lab. "Bruce, we need to run some tests, Nina still can't walk while she healed herself." Tony said as we arrived at the lab. Bruce just nodded and Tony lifted me onto the examination bench. "Just relax okay?" Bruce said and I nodded as I took a deep breath, Bruce scanned me with a new scanner. They saw I looked confused at it. "It was made to examine you specifically." Tony said and I just nodded, not knowing what to say to that. The computer beeped and I looked at Tony who in return looks at Bruce. "Uh... Tony?" Bruce said and Tony got up to go look. "How is that possible?" He asked as he walked back to me and touched my legs. "Let me know if it hurts okay?" He asked as he started massaging my legs. "Uh... ow?" I said shooting him an angry look. "Well shit." He said as he scratched the back of his head. "What?" I asked and looked worried at him. "Looks like some of your powers got stuck in your legs like blood cloths." He said and I looked confused at my legs as I sat up. "Hold up." I said and looked up at Tony. "You have to make me lose control of my emotions." I said and he shook his head. "Fine, I'll go look for someone else to do it." I said as I tried to climb back in the wheelchair. "Nina don't do that." Tony said as he tried to stop me. "Dad either you help me with this or you help me get into the wheelchair." I said irritated, he sighed and helped me into my wheelchair. "Okay big guy get your tools and come with me." I said to Bruce and rolled out of the lab. "OKAY TRAINING TIME!" I yelled to everyone as I rolled myself back outside. Everyone followed me outside. "Okay guys, training for today is making me lose control of emotions so I can lose control over my powers. That way all if my veins will be lit up we can find the cloths." I said and looked at Bruce. "You keep an eye on the cloths as I will try to push them out." I said and he nodded. I dropped out of my wheelchair to the ground and nodded at the others. "Let's go." I said. "For me this is easy." Nat said as she stepped forward. "Tell them how this happened." She said again as she walked towards me. "What are you talking about?" I asked and she chuckled. "I read your diary, I know how you really feel under this mask of the happy girl." She whispered in my ear. "W-w-what?" I asked as I panicked. "Yeah tell them." She said as I tried to figure out what she was talking about. "W-w-wait, you're not-" I said but she cut me off. "Oh yeah." She said and I gasped. "Tell them or I will." She said and I shrugged. "I-I-I just feel empty and alone." I stuttered and she laughed. "Not that, that is part of it, say it." She said and a tear rolled down my cheek. "No Nat please, anything but that." I said as my voice broke. "Nat that's enough." Peter said. "No, all of us need to know this. Say it Nina." She said and I shook my head. "No please" I said and she stopped walking around and stopped right in front of me. "Say it." She said over and over as I kept shaking my head. "TELL THEM NINA, TELL THEM HOW YOU TRULY FEEL!" She yelled and I started to lose control of my emotions. I collapsed back on the ground as my powers took over. I floated into the air and my back arched as I closed my eyes. I got spun around as my veins lit up in my legs were bright dots visible and my eyes snapped open as the golden glow took over. I looked at Nat and felt anger take over. "HOW DARE YOU READING MY DIARY!" I yelled as I started to float on my feet. "YOU HAD NO RIGHT!" I yelled back as my powers started coming out of my hands. "TELL THEM NINA!" She yelled back. "I WANT TO DIE!" I yelled as sadness took over and the power cloths shoot up my body into my hands and I threw them into the air so I wouldn't hurt anyone and screamed out of pain as my powers exploded out of me. Without realizing I floated way higher and I fell down when my emotions were under control. Right before I hit the ground Steve caught me. "I got you." He said softly and looked angry at Nat. "How could you read the diary of your best friend?" He said before he carried me inside and the others followed him. "It's okay Steve." I said softly as I tried to catch my breath. He walked into the living room and laid me down on the couch. "Is it really how you feel Nina?" Tony asked and I shook my head. "It was a few weeks ago." I said softly and looked at Steve. It was right after everything that happened with Hydra and my mom." I said and closed my eyes as a tear rolled down my cheek. "Based on how Nat said it I could tell what she was talking about." I said as I wiped away the tear and sniffled. "I'm actually glad she read it." I said as I sat up and looked at Nat. "Thank you." I said and ran to her to hug her tightly and started sobbing. She hugged me tightly back I felt more people join in and when I opened my eyes I saw that everyone joined the group hug. "On the bright side, I can walk again." I said and we all laughed as I wiped away my tears, I saw all the men secretly wiping away their tears except for Peter. I smiled at Peter and hugged him. "I'm fine now I promise." I said as he hugged me back. "No need to worry about me, I'm the happiest I could ever be." I said as I looked at Steve who smiled at me. "Okay time for happy times." I said as I pulled away from my hug with Peter, I walked over to the piano and started playing happy and fun songs. We all sang along for a few hours and I looked around me, realizing how lucky I am with this family and how proud I am that I am part of it. I smiled as we carried on.
