Chapter 16

After hours of just laying there, we heard a knock on the door. "Come in." I said uninterested and kept staring at the ceiling the door opened up and Peter sat up straight. "Uhm... hi Cap." He said as he got to his feet. "Could you leave us alone?" Steve asked and Peter looked at me. "It's fine." I said and he nodded before walking out the door. "So-" he said and I cut him off. "Lay down with me please." I said and he hesitated. "I don't-" he said and I cut him off again. "Just lay down and stare at the ceiling with me, nothing else." I said and looked at him with pain in my eyes. All the emotions of today came back, I quickly looked back up to the ceiling again, Steve laid down next to me without saying a word. I took a deep shakily breath and I grabbed my sheets so I wouldn't cry. "I-I-I'm so sorry for this morning, I was being controlled and I remember it al it's just that I didn't do it." I said as I voice broke and tears started streaming down my face. I told him everything that happened and how it made me feel and while I was telling him he turned on his side to look at me, when I was done I looked back at him and he smiled at me. "It's okay, I forgive you." He said and I looked back up at the ceiling. "Just a lot happened you know and my emotions got so intense that I became controllable." I said as I wiped away my tears, Steve pulled me up, he wrapped his arms around my waste and lifted me up into a big hug. "It's all going to be fine and I'm right here." He said and I chuckled. "Uhm... Steve... I can't breath." I said as I tried to pull out of the hug. He tightened the hug and I gasped for air. "Say that everything will be fine." He said. "Okay okay everything will be fine." I said and he let go. I sat down on my bed trying to catch my breath. I then grinned at Steve and he slowly walked backwards. "Oh no don't even think about it." He said as he tried to open the door. I used my superspeed to get to him and then lifted him up and hugged him tightly with my super strength. "Nina, I can't breath." He said and I chuckled as I put him down. He smiled at me as he opened the door. "I'll see you down there in a bit, okay?" He said and I nodded. He closed the door and I took a quick shower, changed in something comfortable and threw my hair in a bun.

The outfit:

I walked to the living room and heard a familiar face talking with the others. "Good to have you back." I heard Steve say. "Good to be back. What did I miss?" The voice said as I walked in I slightly gasped. "Well I want you to meet someone." Steve said and turned him around this is-" he said but he was cut off. "Nina." "Bucky." We said at the same time. I just shook my head and walked to the kitchen. When I was in the kitchen I started pacing around. "This is not real, he died after they broke up. I got a grieving card for it. I even got the call." I quietly said to myself. "I CARRIED the coffin. I cried my eyes out." I said louder and getting angry. I walked back to the living room and slapped Bucky in the face. "How DARE you." I said and walked to my room, I felt all eyes on me. "STOP STARING." I yelled as I kept walking on. I stopped for a second, "Oh and Bucky make sure to be gone when I come back." I said and walked further. I messaged Tony.

Before he could reply I turned off my phone. I threw it on my bad and started pacing around my room. "Perfectly normal right? Lying about being dead? Lying about someone I care about being dead? It's not a big deal right? It's not like a piece of my heart got chipped off that day that I heard it." I said out loud, I felt my emotions starting to get too intense. I ran out of my room outside as I passed the others they all looked confused and ran after me. "NINA WAIT." Bucky yelled, I kept running till I was far from the compound I started to pace around to try and calm myself down. "Nina, please listen to me." Bucky said as he stopped in front of me. "Shut up." I said, "No you have to listen." He said and I angrily chuckled. "Stop, just shut up for a second." I said as I kept getting angrier. "Nina I can-" He said as I cut him off. "I SAID SHUT UP." I said as I couldn't control my powers anymore, I lifted him in to the air with my scarlet power. "NINA STOP." Steve yelled. "YOU THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD IDEA TO LET A THIRTEEN YEAR OLD GIRL... THIR-TEEN BUCKY... THINK YOU WERE DEAD?" I screamed to him. "YOU WERE MY SECOND DAD, I TOLD EVERYONE ABOUT HOW YOU CARED FOR ME WHEN MY MOM WOULDN'T, HOW YOU IF I HAD A BAD DAY, WATCH A FUCKING MOVIE WITH ME AND PLAY WITH MY HAIR TILL I FELL ASLEEP AND THEN CARRY ME TO MY BED. HOW I NEVER THOUGHT IT WAS POSSIBLE TO FEEL LIKE THAT ABOUT SOMEONE BESIDES YOUR OWN DAD AND HOW BROKEN I WAS KNOWING I LOST MY SECOND DAD. WHILE IN REALITY YOU WERE NEVER DEAD IN THE FIRST PLACE?" I screamed and threw him aside. "THE GOOD OLD UNCLE BUCKY RIGHT? OH AND WAIT WHAT DID YOU PROMISE ME AGAIN?" I kept screaming as I walked towards him again. The anger reached it's highest point and I dropped to my knees. "YOU." I screamed and slammed my hands on the ground. "WOULD" I said as I did it again. "HURT ME." I screamed at the top of my lungs and slammed on the ground one last time and a wave of energy slipped my hands and right away I calmed down and felt sick. The wave hit everybody and I tried to look around but I fainted before I could.

*20 minutes later*

I woke up in my own room and Steve and Bucky sat beside me. "Go away." I said to Bucky and turned my back towards him as the tears started to stream down my face. "Just listen, you don't have to say anything to him, just listen." Steve said and sat down on the bed behind me as he rubbed my arm. I softly nodded as I fought against my sobs. "I'm so sorry Nina, but I had to do it. Before I met your mother there was a bad organization that I was a part of, I didn't want to but I was brainwashed. Your mother found me one day laying in the street almost freezing to death, she took me in and told you I was going to be your new friend. So I lived 7 years with you and your mother for you." He stopped for a second as his voice broke. "The organization is called HYDRA,they were after me which meant you wouldn't be safe anymore, your mother wanted me out already a week after I moved in but you got so attached to me I convinced her to let me stay. So when HYDRA found out where I was I faked my own death. To make sure they would leave you alone. They eventually found out I lied and went after me again, they caught me and brainwashed me again. That's when I attacked the Avengers, thankfully, Steve here didn't give up on me and managed to safe me. I asked Tony not to tell you, not knowing that one day you would have powers and be part of the Avengers. I didn't want you to think that I didn't love you or cared for you. Because I did... and I still do Nina." He said and I just laid still. Steve kept rubbing my arm. I heard Bucky get up and I turned quickly around to see him walk towards the door. "But I saw you in the coffin, I said my goodbyes to you." I said and he nodded. "I know, it had to be as real as possible." He said softly. I looked at my hands then back at him and back to my hands. "Go hug him." Steve said to me as Bucky left the room. I sat there for a bit, I sighed deeply and jumped up. I looked at Steve and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "Thank you." I said before running after Bucky. "BUCKY WAIT." I yelled as I ran towards him, he turned around and I jumped in his arms. We just stood there in the hallway and hugged for a few minutes. "I love you Buck." I said softly. "I love you too." He said as he put me down. "So... powers, huh?" He said and I laughed. We walked towards the living room and I told him everything.
