since i made a WWX meeting hc and lbh, i'll make a lbh meets hc too

hua cheng lowered his umbrella and tucked it away at his belt as he neared the endless abyss, the border between his realm and that of the mortals'. he had come for no particular reason, really just to check on something. someone, actually. as he neared the edge of the abyss, unsurprisingly, he found a figure, lying down, staring at the endless dark sky above.

"it's been four days, how long are you going to stay there for?" hua cheng asked, his voice nonchalant, but if you read closely, you could almost sense concern.

"i dont know," was all the figure replied.

the figure in question was a young man, not yet twenty years of age, and exceedingly handsome as well. though his well defined, practically glowing features were often stuck in a frown or blank indifference these days, hua cheng could tell his smile would blind all the world besides it.

"what are you doing?" 

"none of your business."

hua cheng let out a "tsk" sound.

"you're in my territory, so of course it is my business. if you're not here for a good reason, i can kick you out."

there was silence for a short while.

"im waiting."

"for what?"

"for shizun." 

hua cheng raised an eyebrow.

"shizun?"

"i'm waiting for him to come get me. it's been four days. maybe he's still making his way down here." 

hua cheng shook his head. even he knew that no matter who this shizun was, he wasn't going to be willing to come to this part of the world to fetch a disciple, no matter how much they loved them.

"why are you still waiting for him? hes never gonna come get you," hua cheng said, almost with pity.

"how do you know that?" the young man snapped, and for a second, his blank expression almost turned into one of anger. but that anger soon faded into frustration, and then into dejectedness, regret, terror. hua cheng recognized that expression, from the crown prince temple, stained with blood, and a ghost fire who could do nothing but scream.

"no..he's definitely going to come get me.." 

hua cheng didn't know who the young man was talking to. was he muttering to himself or talking to hua cheng? 

"he wouldnt just push me down here and leave me to die.... would he?"

"he was so kind to me, he loved me so much? why? why would he do this?" 

"he said that not all demons are bad, yet he hates me for being a demon. tell me, what should i do?" 

hua cheng was taken aback, as he had been in thought at this youngster's situation and hadn't been listening. a shizun who loves his disciple very much, yet threw him down the abyss...

"i dont know. if you wish to go back to the mortal realm and find him, then come with me, i will teach you to become peerless, above all, below none. but if you come with me, the pain and turmoil you will face will be worth thousands of years. but if you want to lie around and waste away, then be my guest."

and with that, hua cheng turned around and left
