TGJZ spoilers feat. side ships. so basically i really wanted to write fengqing and beefleaf stuff but TGJZ hasn't gotten to that point yet, so imma stick to posting it here.

Fengqing:

In the frenzy of wild spirits, Mu Qing had been forced to the edge of a cliff, his saber wildly slashing. Xie Lian and Hua Cheng were too caught up in their own battles, standing side by side, Ruoye flying in a blur of white and E-Ming becoming a silver whirlwind. Although they were the two most powerful beings there, 1) they weren't that far above the others and 2)ghosts were more drawn to large amounts of spiritual energy, so they had no time to mind anyone else. Pei Ming spun his sword like wild and Lan WangJi's guqin played a fast melody, as if angry. Shi QingXuan had borrowed quite a bit of spiritual energy from Xie Lian, and was currently fan dancing, stirring up powerful gusts of wind. Black water stood beside him, bone fish flying out from nowhere.

Mu Qing tried to keep up, but given how he blocked that blow from the powerful ghost earlier, and dispersed it with his energy, his spiritual energy was almost completely depleted. He kept backing towards the edge of the cliff, until he could hear the sounds of a pebble rolling off right the slope behind him. He slashed one more time, but the fierce ghosts surrounded him, and with one bad step, he tumbled off the cliff.

Feng Xin looked up from his battle, and without a word, mustered his spiritual energy enough to leap over the ghosts and jumped off the cliff after the falling general Xuan Zhen. He pulled out his sword from his belt and threw it down, channeling his energy to make it accelerate in a straight line. It enlarged and caught Mu Qing, before he jumped on it as well.

"You idiot! Why the fuck did you tell nobody if you couldn't hold on!" Feng Xin shouted

"What the fuck would anyone do even if I told them?" Mu Qing retorted.

"Well now I have to waste my spiritual energy for you!"

"I never asked you to save me!"

"If you died how would his highness react?!"

Feng Xin grabbed Mu Qing's robes and pulled him closer, as his spiritual energy was falling short and the sword could not keep up its expanded form anymore. When they got back to the top, the hoard of ghosts was almost completely defeated, Lan WangJi standing at the very front, his hands bloody from playing guqin for so long.... (to be continued)

Wangxian:

The flute noises they heard earlier was from him! A man in black raised a flute to his mouth, a shrill melody piercing the dark sky blotted out with fierce ghosts. The demons and ghosts that didn't have the same level of tolerance as He Xuan and Hua Cheng rolled on the floor before slowly rising again, this time moving slowly and mechanically, as if controlled by a puppeteer. Even Hua Cheng and He Xuan had to close their eyes and rest, given the intense pain this caused to them.

The ground below was a bloodbath, completely covered in red and black, the color of blood and the color of resent. The man in black stood in the middle of it all, easily killing thousands of ghosts only by playing a flute.

"This-" Xie Lian had never seen something like this before. Every other ghost king fought through the mountain using brute force and killing ghosts with their own hands, but this man made the ghosts eliminate each other without even needing to fight.

"We mustn't get in this person's way. He will definitely be one of the final picks for the next devastation level demons, and if we were to directly fight him right now, we would just be looking for our own deaths. We must wait until he's worn down because that way not only can he clear out thousands of ghosts for us, but we can also take him out more easily," Xie Lian analyzed.

Everyone nodded besides the two resting demon kings and Lan WangJi, who stared at the man in black, sometimes as if sad, sometimes as if shocked, sometimes as if angry. The emotions in Hanguang-Jun stirred, and all he could feel was an ache in his heart. He wanted to run and embrace the man, but he couldn't, for this person would only tell him to get lost. His head hurt so much, and despite how much pain was in his body from fighting earlier, none could match that of the pain in his heart. A single tear streamed down his face. A tear, a sound of flute, a drunken muttering.

The drunken muttering of "Wei Ying..."

Beefleaf:

Just as the boulder was about to hit Shi QingXuan, a skeletal dragon rose from the ground and blocked the rock for him, shattering into broken bones. Hua Cheng raised his head and smirked.

"Black water, why are you here?" he asked smugly.

"And why would I not be here?" He Xuan replied.

Shi QingXuan looked away, retreating behind Xie Lian, much more silent than he was just a second ago. He Xuan looked at Shi QIngXuan and sighed. He looked back at Hua Cheng and handed him a large sack full of gold coins.

"Here. Nobody is buying winehouses by the hundreds now, so I've managed to get enough money to pay my debt."

Hua Cheng nodded, and stored the pouch in his belt.
