Season Three. Episode Seven. I Kissed a Girl

THE AFTERMATH OF MASH OFF WEEK WAS LAYING HEAVY AMONGST THE GLEE CLUB. But in a surprising turn of events; Finn had convinced Principal Figgins that Santana didn't slap in front of a room full of people and saving her from suspension. Much to the confusion of Mr Schue, Miss Corcoran and Santana, herself. Finn then managed to bring both the New Directions and The Troubletones together, to spend the week singing for Santana, much to her distaste.

Distaste that Santana made very clear after Blaine and Kurt's rendition of Pink's Perfect. Internally cringing at her harsh words, Ruby hoped it wouldn't carry on throughout the week, especially when they were doing this because they loved her.

Puck had just finished singing his rendition of Melissa Etheridge's I'm the Only One and Ruby felt proud that he was getting up to show Santana some love, with everything the pair had endured together. The feeling however; quickly passed and Ruby slapped her hand against her forehead as soon as he opened his mouth.

"That was for you -- Santana. I know I was just part of a phase, but whatever! Happy to oblige, always."

After the glee club meeting; Puck found himself at his locker, when Quinn Fabray advanced on him with her Queen Bitch smirk sitting proudly on her face and he knew she wanted something. And honestly, it scared him when she was like this.

"You kicked ass on that song."

"Thank you."  He eyed her carefully as he zipped up his bag.

"Do think you need to get your eyes checked, though."  Quinn shrugged.

"Say, what?"

"You didn't sing that song for Santana. Hell, you barely sang that song for Bee. You sang almost the whole song to Shelby. You hardly even noticed me..."

"Yeah, that was so that she would think of me -- think of us as the only ones that could take care of Beth and stuff."

"Look, my Mom is going on a Christian wine-tasting boat down the Ohio River on Friday." Quinn told him casually, hoping he'd catch her drift.

"The Jesus Booze Cruise!"  Puck gasped dramatically.

"So I'm going to have the house to myself. Want to come over, order in, rent a movie and not watch it? Remember in the hospital after Beth was born? You told me you loved me. We can get that back."

"Sorry, not interested."

"Let me be more clear. If you come over on Friday, you get to have sex with me."  Quinn whispered; advancing on him.

"Look, I was into you pretty hard a couple years ago cause you were hot like a pixie and I thought you were pretty much cooler than every other girl in the school. But it turns out, you're kind of nuts! You're higher maintenance than Berry and pretty much the most selfish person I've ever met in my life. So thanks for the offer but I'm spending the evening with Bee, who is none of those things and who I actually love."  He told her straight and walking off, leaving the blonde embarrassed and rooted to the spot.

SANTANA WASN'T EXACTLY LOVING THIS WEEK'S GLEE ASSIGNMENT, BUT FINN WAS DETERMINED TO GET THE GIRL TO COME ROUND TO THE IDEA. He wanted her to feel loved because she was so loved, by all of them. Santana meant something to him, she meant something to Ruby. She was his first and that meant something to him and she looked after his Bee; he knew that when he wasn't around, Santana would always have Ruby's back. He cared about her and he'd hate for anything bad to happen and he needed her to know he was sorry, that he loved her truly and for her to understand there was no ulterior motive as to why they were singing for her this week.
