Season One. Episode Eight. Mash-Up

RUBY HAD JUST CLOSED HER LOCKER AND WAS ABOUT TO HEAD TO CLASS WHEN SHE SPOTTED QUINN AND FINN. Waving at them from her spot in the crowded corridor, she attempted to make her way over to them. Just as Ruby managed to push her way through and was an arm's reach away, Karofsky caught her shoulder as he bounded on past.

Ready to give him an earful, Ruby watched on with a glare as him and his friend launched the slushees they were carrying right at Quinn and Finn. Purple dye running down their faces.

"What the hell Karofsky?!"  Finn yelled.

"Oh, I've wanted to do that ever since the fifth grade when you made fun of me for getting pubes. Now that you've joined the Lullaby Lees and impregnated the queen of the chastity ball and dropped below us hockey dudes on the food chain, it's open season!"

"Screw you, Karofsky!" Ruby yelled, rushing over to them with the spare towel she kept in her locker and barging into him as she patted Quinn and then Finn's faces quickly. 

Spinning on the balls of her feet, Ruby looked up at Karofsky who was scowling down at the freshman, fists clenched at his side. "What? Cat got your tongue now that a girl has stood up to you?"  Ruby cocked an eyebrow at him as he lifted his hand slightly as the small girl riled him up.

Before anything else could be said, Finn had pushed the bully up against the lockers. "You lay a finger on her. Either of them. I'll kill you. You got that. You're gonna pay for this Karofsky!"

"No, I'm not. You two don't have the juice anymore. Welcome to the new world order!"  He flashed them a grin, shrugging the taller boy off of him, he swanned off  in the opposite direction.

The three of them watched him stop at the end of the corridor before turning towards them once more. "Oh Fabray! I'd watch out for these two if I were you, it won't be long until he knocks her up too!"  He shouted at them before laughing as he walked away.

Instantly taking a step towards him, Ruby felt both Finn and Quinn wrap a hand around her arms to stop her from advancing after him. "Don't he's not worth it." Finn whispered in her ear. Shrugging the two of them off, the three of them made their way to the choir room for glee before anything else could happen to the three of them.

SITTING COMFORTABLY NEXT TO SANTANA. Ruby couldn't help but smirk at Puck who was telling them both some stupid joke and even managed to let out a laugh at him. Progress was being made in spite all of her initial feelings towards the older boy. When she says progress, he still wasn't her favourite person in the world but she'd consider them somewhat friends now.

Hurrying off to go play with his guitar at the other end of the choir room. Ruby turned to Santana; who looked as equally as unimpressed as Ruby usually did with Puck but was aiming her focus on Finn. Compressing another laugh, Mr Schue came to a stop in front of them to talk about initiative to take lead and the lack of male leads in this room.

"Oh come on guys, it's like you're daring me to start dancing!" Mr Schue exclaimed as a chorus of 'No'  and laughter rang through the choir room amongst the teenagers. 

"I will!"  He started to tease them even more now.

"I've been working on something."
