Season One. Episode Eighteen. Laryngitis.

WHEN RUBY WALKED INTO THE CHOIR ROOM SHE WASN'T EXPECTING TO BE GREETED BY A SOLEMN LOOKING PUCK. Whilst everyone was avoiding going near the once menacing looking boy, Ruby quietly took a seat next to him after bypassing a pissed off looking Santana and twisting in her seat to look at him. She just couldn't take Puck feeling sorry for himself anymore because to be quite honest it was annoying.

"Okay I can't take it anymore. Why the long face Puckerman?"

"Have I lost my juice? A dweeb looked me in the eye this morning!"  He said, panic flashing in his eyes.

"It's just hair. It'll grow back."  Ruby shrugged but it didn't seem to help the sour mood he seemed to be in.

"Although the whining is kind of annoying. You're not exactly screaming 'Puck' right now!"  She patted his knee sympathetically as Mr Schue got up to stand at the front of the choir room.

"I am very disappointed in you guys."  Mr Schue said seriously, hands on his hips as he shook his head at the teenagers.

"I can't believe you narced on us?"  Finn turned Rachel.

"Don't get mad at me for exposing your laziness. I'm tired of carrying all of your weight. Regionals is in a month guys!"

"I'm just trying to understand what's going on here. Finn, why did you stop singing?"  Mr Schue quizzed him.

"Cause you started giving all the male leads to Jesse. It kinda shook my confidence, you know?"

"Speaking of. Can we just talk about how it's a little weird that Jesse has gone on spring break vacation with Vocal Adrenaline?"

"How do you know that?"  Finn spun in her direction and almost giving himself whiplash.

"He told me!"  Ruby told them like it was the most obvious thing in the world, how else would she have known.

"Ahhh yes. I forgot you were best friends now!"  Puck's sarcastic tone ran through her ears.

"Who cares! What difference does it make? Everyone knows that my job here is to look hot!"  Santana shrugged.

"My baby hormones are making me moody."  Quinn mumbled.

"A chain is only as strong as its weakest link. A glee club is about a myriad of voices coming together as one. Which is why your assignment for the week is for each of you to come up with a song that best represents how you see yourself where you are in your life right now. Your voice. Then you're going to stand up here and sing your hearts out. All of you! The glee club has lost its voice. It's time for us to get it back."

The glee club disbanded not really feeling any better than when they did when they arrived for rehearsals and that feeling was still prominent amongst the teenagers on their arrival the next day. "Alright, guys. Let's get things started."  Mr Schue announced as they took their seats.

"As I was the first on the sign up sheet. I'll kick things off."  Rachel jumped up and took to the floor. "I have chosen Miley Cyrus' The Climb because it's about overcoming obstacles and beating the odds. In this case, my obstacle is you! My lacklustre teammates who refuse to carry their own eight."  Rachel said, turning to Brad to start her off.
