Season Two. Episode Twelve. Silly Love Songs

VALENTINES DAY WAS JUST AROUND THE CORNER AND MCKINLEY HIGH WAS LITTERED IN RED HEART DECORATIONS.  Ruby really wasn't at all that bothered about it if she was being totally honest after all, she was alone again on Valentine's Day. Mike and Ruby had broken up before Valentines Day last year and it felt like everybody else was coupled up in glee club.

Mike was with Tina. Artie was with Brittany. Puck was with Lauren but she was pretty sure Santana was going to interrupt that situation. Sam was with Quinn, however Ruby had noticed Finn had been really weird around the couple since the game this last week but Ruby Carter knew better than to interfere. Which left Ruby with Rachel. Maybe she should just ask Rachel at this point so she didn't have to spend it alone? Or did that seem a little too desperate?

Pondering over how she can make her looming Valentine's Day less depressing, Puck stopped in front of her locker and pulled her out of her thoughts. Looking almost shy, he fiddled with his hands behind his back and looked at her nervously.

"Hello love, what's up? You're acting weirder than usual."  Ruby cocked an eyebrow as she eyed him suspiciously.

"I've got something -- It's something I want to give you -- I just don't know how to ehh..."   Puck stuttered and Ruby dropped her guard, actually concerned why the most confident guy she knew was struggling to string a sentence together. She watched him carefully as he took a deep breath before continuing.

"I'm not good with my emotions and all that feelings crap but you mean an awful lot to me Princess. You're the only one who really knows what juvie was really like and the fact that you took my calls everyday literally kept me sane. So thanks and I love you so wanted to give you this."  He said producing what he was hiding behind his back and opening his hand to find two hand woven bracelets.

"My little sister has the friendship bracelet making kit, so I got her to show me how to make them. You take a lot of my shit when I know I don't deserve it but I wanted you to know that I appreciate you, especially with V-Day around the corner."  He shrugged casually like what he had said wasn't the sweetest thing to ever come out of his mouth.

Standing up on her tip toes, Ruby immediately wound her arms around Noah Puckerman's neck and squeezed him tightly. Pressing a longing kiss to his cheek as she retreated from the embrace and stuck her arm out to pop the bracelet on. "Thank you."  She whispered before tying his matching bracelet around his wrist.

"I'll wear it forever."  Ruby told him with a bright smile.

DESPITE WHAT WAS LOOKING TO BE A LONELY VALENTINES DAY.  Ruby was feeling the love from her friends; with Puck's sweet gesture of the friendship bracelets and now the bouquet of sunflowers that Finn had handed her with a bright smile and a kiss to the cheek on the way to glee rehearsal. Being single didn't seem so bad when she knew she was loved by those she cared about the most.

Sitting in the choir room; the glee club listened to Mr Schue talk about their assignment for the week which was to sing a love song to a partner when Finn jumped up and interjected.

"I just wanted to point out that for the first time, an entire week has gone by without one of getting slushied. I think the fact that I led the football team to a conference championship might have something to do with it." Ruby cocked her head to the side as she took him in, where the hell was he going with this? "Fact is that I'm the closest thing that this glee club has to a celebrity right now and just like a famous athlete, I want to give to a charity -- You guys."  And that is when Ruby's jaw finally dropped.
