Luckily his phone didn't break but he sort of wish it did when his phone started ringing the next day.

Donghyuck was crying the whole night after what had happened yesterday. The flashbacks of everything he went through like a loop in his mind.

"H-hello?" He answered the phone, stuttering after he accidently didnt look at the contact name. His nose was stuffed after all the crying and his headache was swimming.

"Hey Hyuck," Mark's voice traveled through the phone and Donghyuck's shoulders instantly relaxed.

"Oh hi Mark," Donghyuck tried to get his voice to sound as normal as possible. "Uh what's up?"

Please don't ask about the game.

Please don't ask about the game.

Please don't ask-

"Can you come to the game?" Mark's voiced was hopeful and it brought Donghyucks heart further down into his stomach. "I was waiting til you would text me but...it's kinda late now and I was too anxious to wait any more."

There was no background noise in the phone so that meant that Mark got off the ice for a minute to call him. He was missing some practice before the game to call Donghyuck.

"I-i.." Donghyuck stuttered out, his heart hammering as he thought back to the words yesterday.

I'll see you at the game too.

"Donghyuck? Are you alright?" Marks voice was concerned through the phone and Donghyuck didn't realize his shuddery breathing could be heard.

"Uh y-yeah I'm alright," Donghyuck tried to reassure but it sounded more for himself than for Mark. "I-i don't know if I can go...I got some homework to go over...and the arena is a bit far and I dont have a car...im sorry..."

He felt guilt eating him up because all of it was lies.

He didnt have any homework.

He could always ask Renjun for a ride.

He wasn't ok.

"O-oh," Mark's disappointed voice went through the phone and Donghyuck couldn't take it.

"Maybe I could...ask Jaemin for a ride," He spewed out in a rush. Wanting to make up for his previous words.

"Uh does Jaemin have a car?" Mark asked and Donghyuck felt like an idiot because no.

Jaemin didn't not have a car.

"Ahhh no but I'm sure he wouldn't mind walking with me," Donghyuck let out a fake laugh because Jaemin did not like walking and he wasn't athletic either.

"You sure? The sun's already going down and I dont want you two to be unsafe-" Mark's worried voice said.  Donghyuck could just visualize the frown on his sharp features.

"Yeah it'll be fine," Donghyuck cut in, his words stinging on his tounge. "I mean as long as Jeno's playing then Jaemin shouldn't mind."

He heard Mark snort at that before letting out a soft sigh. "Cool then. I'll see you soon?"

"Yep, see you soon Markie," Donghyuck quickly hung up the phone after realizing he just called Mark, "Markie."

He shivered before clicking the Fellow Hoe 🤗 contact.

Please don't kill me.

"I CANNOT believe you made me walk all the way to the fucking hockey arena at sunset in the cold," Jaemin yelled and pulled his jacket closer to his body as he stomped up the entrance stairs.
