Donghyuck woke up to a drumming on his ribcage. A slow thumping, gentle but persistent, as if to keep tempo, a rhythm.
His eyes fluttered open when he heard a small whisper, "...my dilemma..."
Mark was laying on his back with his head propped up on the pillow beneath him. His legs drawn up a little bit with a small notebook sat on his lap, scribbling words with his left hand but it clearly wasn't his dominant hand. His right arm was looped underneath Donghyucks body, cradling him to his side and subconsciously tapping his fingers.
"Baby don't like it?" Donghyuck accidentally whispered the title at the top of the paper out loud.
Mark tensed next to him and the notebook was slammed shut, not allowing Donghyuck to read anything past the title.
"Geez," Mark seemed to exhale a bit too shakily as he peered down at Donghyuck. "You could've told me you were awake."
"Mhm I wouldn't have been if you hadn't played my ribs like a piano," Donghyuck sassed a bit but giggled when Mark realized his hand was tapping against Donghyucks side.
"Sorry," Mark stopped the tapping but continued to stare at Donghyuck, watching as he stretched his body out like a cat before curling again.
"What?" Donghyuck asked once he noticed Mark's staring. The big round eyes making him flush under them.
"Nothing," Mark shrugged a bit but the cheeky smile never left his face. "You're just cute is all."
Donghyuck's cheeks lit on fire as he groaned and rolled over, pretending to be annoyed but really burying his face into the baby blue comforter of Mark's bed.
Mark gave a small laugh before leaving over to check the time on his phone. "Shit, I gotta start getting ready for work."
Donghyuck's brows raised at that as his hands clutched onto the blanket a little tighter.
He didn't know Mark had a job.
Usually you wouldn't expect someone from a rich family like him to need one or even want one.
"You can use my coffee machine if you want," Mark got out of the bed and went towards his dresser. "I need to take a quick shower."
Donghyuck heard the water soon pouring through the bathroom door and slowly got up.
He was feeling much better than the day before, he was still a little chilly but that was probably because it was still early morning.
He finally got a real glimpse at Mark's living room and kitchen.
The living room looked a lot bigger than it had looked through his own window.
He walked towards the kitchen and looked it the pantry but it was mostly empty.
He looked through the cupboards to see that they too were pretty bear minus some snacks, random box dinners and useless ingredients.
Donghyuck frowned to himself.
Why didn't Mark have any real food?
He shook his head and prayed for there to be something as he opened the fridge. Only half a jug of milk, a fourth a jug of orange juice and some fruits in the bottom drawer.
There was a small carton in the back that made him let out a sighed relief.
At least Mark had eggs.
Donghyuck put the carton down on the counter and peered into the freezer almost jumping for joy when he saw bacon snuggled into the door.
Donghyuck smiled and brought out some pans and oil from Marks lower cupboards.
