Flashback-Pre-covid, August 15, 2019
It was the first day of school, Grade 9. She was so excited to start fresh once again, but she was just in the same school and she just sees the same people with advanced and new styles. Like everyone was just the same just 1 or 3 changes. A familiar Teen girl came running to Veya, hugging her saying she missed her.
" Omg! it's so good to see you! you've gotten a bit tall! that's cool! and your hair is short" Karmela said
"ya!, I mean it looks better right??" Veya Replied
"yo, V this guy keeps looking at you," Marcus said
" who's he?"
"he plays basketball" Dianne joins the conversation
"he looks like a playboy" Dianne added
"AHAHHAAHA, attractive, but we don't want to fall for that" Veya quickly replied
"knowing you Clairesse Morales, your types are bad boys and basketball players" Karmela shrugged
"no! No! not really... I find those guys attractive but not someone I would date" Veya talked back
* okay everybody take a sit and welcome to the school year 2019-2020!*
Veya couldn't get the strange boy out of her head. She was weirded out, she finds him attractive and cool. Her head was full of thoughts and while during GA every new student had to introduce themselves, little did you know she listened deeply to what the strange attractive boy has to say about himself.
" Hi my name is Jake Dome Ignacio, I'm 16, I play Basketball and Soccer"
"yieeeee, Sarah hahahaha!" Veya Teased Sarah
"no, that's my brother's classmate!" Sarah replied
"HAHAHAHAHAHAH" the group laughed
Jake kept looking at Veya, she could feel that he's looking and she keeps doing a little glimpse of him to make sure he isn't looking anymore. So as she takes a look at her back they're eyes meet and the next thing you know they had a long stare, that left Veya's heart racing.
"ow shit he smiled," Veya said quietly
It was awkward, the whole day Jake was trying to find out her name asking questions about who she is and what grade is she in. it was like Mission Impossible but it's possible.
Day 2 - August 16, 2020
Veya's second day of school wasn't fun, It's like everyone was looking at her because they were wondering if Jake asked her out? it was weird. Veya was on her way to her friend group, her friend group consists of grades 11 and 12 students and shocked to see her friends talking to the new guy Jake.
"Hey V, meet Jake. he plays PubG too. " Joshua said
"Ow yeah, I saw you yesterday" she replied. she reaches her hand out for a handshake and she could see jake's hand trembling. Jake shook Veya's hand and let it go awkwardly.
"so PubG, I don't play that game anymore... I still do but I kinda got tired of it." Veya started
"Yeah you got busy?" Joshua asked
"yeah" She replied
( from a distance- Sarah is calling Veya)
"talk to you later? J? " She asked Joshua.
"yeah later V" Joshua ended
As Veya left, Jake asked Joshua about Veya.
"So Veya is grade 9, so She's like 17?" Jake asked
"no, she's 15" Joshua answered
"I couldn't find her on Facebook, What's her name?" Jake asked
From a distance, Veya could see her friend Joshua and Jake whispering, she couldn't control herself and asked what they were both doing and they were running around like the boys didn't want to let her know what they were doing.
"HEY! CARE TO SHARE?" She raised her voice.
The boys just laughed and teased her the whole time until they parted ways.
Veya went home did her chores and prepped herself for tomorrow's initiation day! as she was preparing she received a Call, from Jake.
*ringgggggg* Jake Dome Ignacio is calling you...
she picks up the phone and surprisingly answers it.
"Hello?" she said.
"hey! its Jake" He replied
"ow? how'd you find me?" she asked.
"Joshua? HAHAHAHAHAHAH, you're actually hard to find, it took me a day." he replied
"really?" she asked
"yep" he answered
"yeah, btw Wanna hang out? like play games or smthn" Jake asked
"at school?" She asked
"yeah at school where else" he teased
"AHAHAH yeah, sure no prob" she replied
"kay! see ya," she said quickly
"yo hold on-" he replied
"what's up?"
"mind if I too call you V?" he asked
"my close friends call me that" she replied
"well when were close, can I call you V?" he asked
"yeah sure, when we're close"
- call ended-
Veya blushed for no reason.., she was panicking wondering, what is she gonna do? she tried getting it off her mind but it seems like she was pulled to him. after one call. she was deeply interested in what happens next. in the back of her mind, she wanted to have a longer call yet her heart keeps telling her not to, cause she won't be able to start a conversation with him. she felt like she was on a skyscraper ready to jump knowing Jake will be there to catch her. it's like Cupid shot her heart with an arrow, but instead, he used a gun. it was surreal.
Veya the next day hanged out with Jake and her friends. They played games and chatted the whole afternoon. while playing Jake held Veya's hand because they were playing tag. Veya almost got caught but luckily Jake pulled her close to his chest and saved her from the tag that was about to nearly end the whole game. As Veya was so close to Jake, her heart was beating so fast like time didn't exist...it felt like it was just the two of them in utopia and no one else.
she let go of Jake and pretended nothing happened, yet after a very long day, the whole school was slowly teasing Veya and Jake together. They felt so uncomfortable, but everyone kept ongoing. until they were forced to sit together in front of the car.
*in front of the van*
"you okay?" He asked.
"Yeah, I'm just tired" she answered. she yawned and slowly felt so sleepy, during the ride she fell asleep and Jake placed her head on his shoulder and kept her there until the end of the ride. she didn't have a clue that he did what he did, so as the van stopped she was shocked she was leaning on Jake's chest.
"ow I am so sorry," she said quickly
"it's okay, it was cute" he replied she blushed, she didn't know what to say. She went down the van thanked Jake once again. and she blushed, her eyes got bigger, even more, when he heard Jake say " bye sleepy baby"
*in her head- "sleepy baby?"*
"bye" she replied and ran to her car
