Veya and Gab worked the whole day in the Cafe, planning the team-building games, the talks, the food, and the venue. After hours of staying in the cafe, eventually, it was called to close.
"mia, Veya... we have to close now ija," Mita reminded the two.
"oh mita thank you, thank you so much again," Veya replied, getting their stuff ready and packing up her laptop and papers. Gab now talking to Mita.
"Mita thank you for today," Gab said
"ah, Gab Ijo watch over my Veya mia, for there will be years I might not be there all along, but you are, safe travels mga ijo," Mita said while waving goodbye to Veya and Gab.
Veya and Gab waved goodbye to the staff in the cafe and Mita, Gab got the door for Veya and rode back home. On the way home, Gab planned to go to the drive-thru for dinner and eating back at the pick-up truck. They ordered their food, got down the car went up to the truck, and Veya so surprised, Gab set up the pick-up truck. There were blankets and throw pillows a mini-bed table, a laptop ready to watch a movie on Netflix. and a bag that made Veya so curious about what's inside.
"there's a bag?" Veya asked, as she asked Gab helped her up on the truck and laughing, smiling thinking that she doesn't need anything from Gab.
"it's a gift," Gab said.
"wait you don't have to, it's not my birthday," Veya said sheepishly
"no, I want to get you something for tonight," Gab said while smiling.
Deep inside Veya was so shy, so worried that Cairo was in her head, not telling him anything about Gab and Gab too. Her not telling Gab about Cairo. But Gab gave her a reason not to think about her problems but to enjoy the night of treat. she can't stop smiling, she had butterflies in her stomach, her face kept turning red, the night was breezy and perfect.
"ah thank you," Veya thanked Gab.
Gab sat down and placed a blanky on her lap and got their hot food out of the bag, he opened his laptop and put on Netflix Stranger Things season 1: Episode 10. "you're on episode 10?" Veya asked. Gab just smiled and continued watching, while watching Gab's eyes got bigger, those dazzling eyes she first noticed when she first met Gab. out for fun, Veya scared Gab and teased him throughout the whole episode. it was the perfect moment for Veya. soon later after a few episodes, Gab nervously placed his arms around Veya, veya can't help to notice but helped him by her moving closer to Gab for him not to make an awkward move of putting his arm around her. She placed her head on his shoulders as Gab placed his head on her head while watching the scene of Mike and Eleven find their way together.
after 15 mins, Gab went down the truck to get some dessert for the road back home, as Gab left. Veya picked up her phone and there were 15 messages from Cairo that she missed. She was worried about what might the messages be. while she was staring at the red dot that says 15, she was thinking of what excuses she'll use, she didn't know how to explain to Gab about Cairo and tell Cairo about Gab. She too is still confused about what to do. she knows she has to go.
Gab went back to the truck looking at Veya like someone might attack her.
"Hey what's up? Is your Dad looking for you, tell him we're on the way, it's not yet 9," Gab said.
"no, I just, it's nothing but can we go? I have to do something for school and the paper," Veya said.
"ah yeah sure, sure ill inform Kuya," Gab said on the way to his driver
"oh leave that I will clean that up," Gab said as he went back to Veya.
Veya and Gab went back down to town and drove to her village, as they reached their house, Gab got down and got the door for Veya.
"thank you for tonight Gab, I really enjoyed it," Veya thanked him
"yeah me too, thank you for coming with me," Gab replied
Veya walks toward her gate until Gab called her out looking so paralleled like trying to hide something in, trying to keep something within. Gab walks towards her and holds her around her waist, holds the back of her neck, and pulling her close...
and whispered in her ear...
telling her how much she meant to him and how much he cared, how her eyes were the one thing he looks forward to seeing every day as he goes in meetings Veya's eyes were teary-eyed, she didn't know what to say, she was speechless and thoughts came running around her head and the world felt like spinning.
"you don't have to say anything, I just want you to know... how when you walked out of the door. I felt back to the first time I saw you, how could anybody, ever have wanted to run away from Veya Morales..." Gab smiled and walked back to the car.
"see you in the HD Screens Morales," he said, rolling back the window smiling while his car drove away back to his home.
